Hi Guys!

Any information on the power rating and torque of the Fortuner 2.5G?

And if you'll get a 4x2 Fortuner, which will be your pick? 2.7 Gas or 2.5 Diesel?

Thanks!

2.5G is ok for everyday traffic.

2.7G is very hard to get now. waiting is far more longer than 2.5G & 3.0V. (that's what i heard)

2.5G is 102hp, while 2.7G is 160hp

anong transmission gamit ng 2.5G? manual or automatic?

Hi Guys!

If the 2.5L diesel only pumps out 102HP, then this Fortuner variant might be under-powered due to weight.

Anyway, I hope Toyota somewhat modified its turbo to give the 2.5L diesel some more power.

We're next in line for the Gas variant, but it's already a long long wait! Our agent offered us if we want the 2.5G so I'm researching for its specs.

Most diesel engine in AUV (almost same size & weight with Midsize SUV) are less than 90hp. But they can still managed everyday traffic.
I think Crosswind with Turbo engine can do a 0 to 100kph in 16 secs. Real slow if you might consider but still its traffic. So who needs a fast AUV or SUV.
Not unless you're always beating the red light or always like overtaking those  big bus or Jeepneys.
So 102hp 2.5G is good enough for getting point A to B.

If for city drives, then the 2.5L engine should do, after all on most days, traffic within the city is bad. For highway drives though, it might be underpowered.

AGREE ! The 2nd Gen Pajero has 100 Hp... it can run at 130 kph.....
At 102Hp it has sufficient power to reach more than 130 kph... that is fast enough in city driving. Even for out of Town it's seldom you need 150 KPH. However, we need power in overtaking buses and trucks.

Hi Guys!

I thought that if the Fortuner 2.5G Diesel Engine has the same power rating as the Starex's 2.5 CRDi engine (145HP), then it would be a great match.

I drove my cousin's Starex recently (with A/T tranny) and it accelerates fast, good for overtaking buses or jeeps in highways.

I guess we'll have to wait for the gas. Just called our dealer and they said there are no units yet.  >:(

I think Toyota made a mistake in putting a 2.5 engine in the Fortuner. People might say hey you bought an Innova.
That's my own opinion. No offense.
