Now that I've got your attention  ;) How's your STI? I've thinking lately of trading up to a new car and the STI is on my list. Any problems, mechanical or otherwise? How's the chassis and suspension holding up to PI's potholed roads? Also, any pinging (the first batches had detonation problems) from the engine?

I'm thinking of trading up to an EVO X (whenever they decide to sell it here), an EVO IX (MR or GSR) or an STI. After owning my EVO, these are the only car's I'd consider moving up to so hwag nyo nang paguluhin pa isip ko!  ;)

Well the resale/trade-in value depends on the market you're in. In SoCal, it is somewhat bad since madaming supply of used evo's but in LV, used evos can still fetch 25k for trade-in.

I'm thinking of trading up since malapit nang mapaso yung warranty ko (it's on 03 so three years lang siya) so I'll get a 5 year warranty (10 year powertrain) and a new car in the process. It's nothing definitive, just speculating on it.

I've driven an Evo7 and an STi, and I have to say that in paper, the Evo is a more superior car in terms of balance and suspension. It almost feels like the STi, only a bit firmer.

The STi's good points could not be quantified on paper, but more on spirit ;D Yes it hold very well on potholes, and it has a more quality feel on it compared to the Evo. Yes it understeers a bit, but I can live with it ;D No problems with it at all, except that it's just oo tempting to drive it everyday ;D

I haven't tried the Evo9. I think that's one car you need to check out also :) If you are going for an STi, go for the latest model :D

Zapcomaniac

If understeer is the problem get the 05 they change the torque split on the 05 to cure the oversteer.

Yep. More low-end torque although the Evo pulls itself out faster in the corners. Must be all them electronics :)
