review please
is this a good tire?

Wolverine

It is a decent mud tire but there are more aggresive ones.  This tire would be good if your vehicle is on road more often than offroad at a ratio of about 60/40.  However, if this is the anticipated usage, I would recommend the Yokohama geolandar MT which is also a relatively quiet mud tire when used on road and is more effective in the mud than the Bridgestone.  This tire was actually reviewed against three other tires in an old issue of 4x4 International Magazine and the Yokohama was rated best over the others. The tires tested were the Bridgestone M/T, Grandtrek M/T 2, and BF Goodrich M/T (if i remember correctly).  I have personally tried the BFG, Dunlop, and Yokohama and agree with the findings.  Hope this helps.

I agree with Wolverine.... Yokohama Geolander MT has more aggressive treads.... unidirectional is one of its downside.

But when I saw Rookie's MTR 32 X 11.5 X 15 wrangler, Need to  have a second look !!!  Lalo gumanda lalaki si Rookie pag dala ung pick up na isuzu !!!!! nakakainggit !

All i know is there is this place in Batangas st. in manila that sells them they can trade in but you have to go there to show it. ill try to get the name and address.

Wolverine

I know a place where i can get the geo M/Ts for about 4500 or maybe even a little less on 31x10.5x15.  Yes the geo's are directional but thats what also lends to its relatively quiet ride (for an M/T) on the road.  They also handle surprisingly well at highway speeds.  Of course they will understandably wear out faster than your A/T's but thats just a consequence of the design.

I agree with the Driver that the MTR's look really nice too.  I've read good reviews on them so check them out.  It is true that the Bridgestones are slightly cheaper than the others but as the old saying goes.....You often get what you pay for.  Good Luck on your purchase.

sixpack

I own that set size 33 * 12.5 * 15.

On highway, it is quiet, has good handling and low resistance.  On off-road it is also good for its design but cannot compete with more aggressive tire such as super swamper radial or Simex centipede.

The dealer I am talking about also carries that particular tire.  It's a new release and is almost an exact copy of the Baja Claw except for its black sidewall and slight modification on the curvature of the tread design.  appears to be a nice looking tire and substantially cheaper than the tire it copies.  About 5-6k if I am not mistaken

The dealer was actually offering me that tire the other day because I got some Geolandar A/T+II for my zook (31x10.5).  I had to get them because I didnt want to wear out the Simex tires on long highway drives.  Now I'm ready for Mindoro and Palawan.  Hehehe!! Anyone want to join us on a RoRo expedition to Palawan?  Better schedule your vacation leave!!  We might do Mindoro first all the way to Nauhan Lake.  Some areas there still look like the Lochness Monster could just pop out anytime!!  It's not even a very long trip.  2 hours to Batangas and an hour on RoRo.  From there we can stay at Puerto galera for the evening and head on east to Nauhan.
