Guys, can you comment on this? I have a 11-year old car with 95T kms on the odometer. Everything's working fine except for some dark smoke, (not white or blue), whenever I hit the high RPMs or when I rev hard while idling. What could cause this? I'm due for an oil change in around 500 kms. Will an oil change help?

AFAIK, dark smoke is isually caused by unburned fuel... improper combustion of fuel inside the engine, then labas na sa exhaust!

sabay mo na rin patune-up oto mo pag papa-change-oil ka!  :)

What car is that? Is it fuel injected or carbureted? Dark smoke usually means you're running rich, if the car is carbureted then you need to have the carburetor calibrated.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

That's true. In my old carb engine, i set the fuel too rich...presto! black smoke. In my EFI engine, i had it tuned up, the oil changed, the plugs too. Presto! no smoke.

95t pa lang naman ang odometer nyo so under normal usage, di pa laspag engine nyo. air/fuel adjustment lang yan most probably. rich po ang mixture or mas marami pumapasok na gas kesa sa air. tune-up lang yan or kung carb type ang engine nyo, may pipihitin lang dyan. but dont do it yourself kung di po nyo kabisado. dalhin nyo sa carb specialist. sa kamuning marami carb shops doon.
