what can i do t o make my car's diesel engine run faster?

Benj

Have it dyno tuned in autoplus, I've seen tremendous gains in power and torque from turbo diesel just with around 1 or 2 hours of dyno tuning.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

JeF

how much naman magpa-dyno tuned?

lantraluvr

Php 5000 per hour.

I could have a Mitsu Pajero dyno tuned to make more power without any fancy piggyback computers like S-AFC's and stuff?

if your diesel engine is "just" turbocharged and not intercooled, you could consider adding an intercooler.  :)

you could also upgrade the turbocharger itself...  ::)

oh, and lastly, you could opt to get a turbo timer. if my guess is right, this is used to set the turbo boost pressure.  ::)

Yes.

a turbo timer does not set the turbo boost pressure. it is the wastegate and the boost controller.

Yup. Also, the turbo timer's job is to let the engine idle after the key is removed in order for the turbo to be cooled down.

-they will tune out the safc by getting the best a/f mixture.. iseset nila to how lean and rich your car can go...
other stuff like ignition timming etc

well, it's best raw if meron kang gadgets.. kasi once youve added a gadget you'll need to dyno tune your car or even if you changed pipings...
huli na ang dyno kung nakakabit na lahat

Teka muna, ano bang sasakyan mo?
I suggest dyno-tuning after you've put in your mods and you want to measure and see how efficient/effective you've been.

Generally, a turbo-diesel appreciates lots and lots of air. You can put in a bigger piped exhaust system, and a K&N air filter.

You can re-gear the ring and pinion, to get better acceleration but you loose top speed and worsen fuel economy.

Blindly putting in a bigger turbo may increase your boost pressure, but may take longer to spool up and thus give you longer turbo lag time. Putting in a bigger intercooler will drop the boost pressure, and a poorly planned piping, might actually worsen the performance.

Or you can swap in a bigger engine :)

I almost forgot to add, you can typically adjust the fuel pump to deliver more fuel, and then later add propane injection and nitrous oxide injection too, for more air.

Do not forget to install an EGT gauge when doing the above mods.

you could also buy set turbo/ turbo-intercooler/ intercooler kits from the following: http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/safari/products.html
http://www.axtturbo.com.au/ and
http://www.alpine-developments.co.za/ :)

I don't know if any of them are available locally... perhaps Safari is.  ::)
