SUZUKI SJ410: smaller engine, the narrower track width front and rear with leaf springs mounted further inboard, 12% lower transfer case ratios in high and low range, 10% lower differential gears, a 4-speed transmission, front and rear unboosted drum brakes, a transfer case mounted drum parking brake, seat and dashboard design, lack of a roll bar, and availability of half-door convertible, pickup, hardtop, raised-panoramic-roof, and no-glass hardtop versions.

SUZUKISJ413: SJ413 (4wd,1.3 liters) power front disk, rear drum brakes, a new dashboard and seat design, and a switch from the vertical-slat metal grille to the plastic unit.stretching the wheelbase 13.5 inches and the overall body length by 23 inches.

Yes, it can fit to any zuki's. goto www.calmini.com.
about the ARB lockers, well the ARB's can well be custom fitted depends on your design and budget. dunno if there are any local suppliers for this one. try here: http://www.arbusa.com

sir mikaztroizook,
im planning to get a sj410 for my personal and trail rigs for weekend...my hilux is for restoration and my cruiser is for competition only...im just wondering how much is the resale value of this model i think they are 1986...correct me if im wrong.....

the 410 here have a quite mod..there is an engine change(toyota 4k),the seats are not original have some rush on two doors and have mod the front grille and making the circular sealed beam now a square sealed beam.....
i only tell the owner that my budget for that is 30 thousand is it ok i think they're selling it for 4 and higher...................
please help me........................

I think the description give above is pretty comprehensive so there's really nothing much to add.  I did want to point out though that there are not too many SJ410's around because these were locally sold units back in 1982 until about 1986 ( leftovers from the previous years).  These came with the 1000 cc engines and the 4 speed tranny as was pointed out.  Most of the short wheelbase zooks being sold now are japanese surplus units that usually have the 550cc or 660cc engines in turbo and non-turbo versions ( SJ30's, JA71,etc...) These units also have the narrower axle because only the Samurai was introduced with the slightly wider axles.  Axle diameter and differential size is also different betwen some of the other versions.  This is why the ARB unit that is made for the Samurai may not fit the other suzuki's (except for the one's using the larger diffs and the .98 inch front axles/ 1.14 inch rears).  If I'm not mistaken, it's really just the suspension components that are directly interchangeable because even the engine components are different.  The samurai would be the one that has the largest selection of aftermarket parts of all these variants because it was also marketed in the U.S. Hope this helps.

By the way, whats your total budget for buying the vehicle plus modifications.  Maybe we can steer you in the proper direction.  Mahirap kasi kung mestizo yung bibilhin mo.  Lalo na kung hindi pulido ang pagkagawa.  Sasakit lang ulo mo tapos lalaki pa ang gastos.

(please register your name here so as to avoid confusion) Dunno what to address you but here goes.... I'm not an expert of 4x4 rigs and stuff but i quite well know some. Sj410's price varies..it depends on the condition and model. A good conditioned 1983-85 should fetch between P80k to as high as P150k. Some Sj410 turbo charged still fetch around P150k to as high as P250k. Ask Mr. joey Millionado. He sells some imported Sj's from subic around P150k. Resale value of SJ's are high but really depends on the condition of it. May I ask what dya mean by 30k for? a restoration and mod or simply buying the whole vehicle? Im confused. If it is for the whole vehicle then its damn bargain. Zuki vehicle without zuki engine for me is not a genuine zuki. I perceived it wrong to modify and change the engine of zuki just to increase power because as per specs, it aint supposed to be. My opinion is you can tweak the engine and make some mods but not change the whole engine coz it will nullify the essence of being a true zukiman. You can even modify the lights, seats, tops, suspension, sidings, etc. BUT not change the whole engine. I saw some peeps changing the engine of zuki to Land cruisers.  So now, how will u categorize ur vehicle? Is it a Toyota or Suzuki? Will they still take the prestige of being a zukiman while their engine is from Toyota?

IAS CAN'T LOG

thanks wolverine and mikaztroizook,]

my username is IAS but cant log...thanks for all the specs you given me...im new in this vehicle so thanks for the information...

yes the suzuki is a bargain because it is in the province the owner say that he will also give the engine with the tranny...he is just confused that day about the zuk so he changed the engine...

not original in the zuk is the grilles and headlamps but the whole are is still the suzuki with the 30k budget it's a jackpot if the owner agree with me and modifications will soon be followed such as front coil spring...etc

thanks sir for your help...

buddy

wolverine,

im a land rover owner and also a zuki guy. right now im playing with stock sj410 with 660cc turbo intercooler. turbo timer, blow off valve and k&n air filter just added lately to avoid turbo break down which is so scarce in the country. for the suspension, im planning to install the calmini 5inch kit from cali that cost me around 65t landed in mnl. called up arb australia and said that lockers are only avail to sj413. any alternatives? for tires i bought simex 31s for 10t each and surplus rims for 4t. also bought warn m8000 winch for 50t but still need winch bumper. any idea how much will cost me of arb winch bumper? total cost of the rig right now is 350t. (170 for the rig + 180 for the add ons). need more imput.. thanks

Buddy:

ARB doesn't make a unit for the SJ410 but yours isn't an SJ410.  Yours would be a JA71.  The significance of this is that while your vehicle  may still have a narrower axles, your unit might have the same diameter differential as our standard samurai.  Some units do.  It is now a question of finding out if you're one of the lucky ones.  Go to Filmar in Katipunan and ask for Rod, He can check your diffs to see how they compare.  I believe he has a few diffs to compare to.  Alternatively, you can try to obtain the axles and housing of the local Samurai.  They aren't cheap and there are few if any available at surplus stores but check anyway.  Most of the units being sold at jap surplus stores are the same as the one's you have (narrow).  I have a spare front unit that I might be willing to part with but you'd still need a rear.  Hope this helps.  By the way, you can have a very sturdy bumper fabricated locally.  It ill be suitable for your purposes.  Check mine out in some of the pics here http://www.pbase.com/deltarecon .  This was done by my trusty latero!

suzi,

how much the selling price of this units right now? they drink gas like a coffee? the thing i like most to the jimny 660 turbo intercooler is powerful(for me) and go wheelin with the ac on without any problem. i set the turbo on at 3,500rpm off road and on road at 4,000rpm. i have also 660cc engine with the supercharger on top of it  for back up use. But still the issue of this turbo is so scarse in availability.
anybody knows where to get turbo? heres the info, IHI turbo RHB31,VZ9 9105 for Suzuki f6a.

thanks for minding me....
