Is it OK! to put Grease on Shocks?

ok ba ito? kasi i have seen in Rally na they spray WD40 (sort of...) sa shocks nun mga cars nila. i was just thinking  of putting grease ok din kya?

Yes, you can grease or lubricate the shock bushings to prevent squeak...

do not grease the rod( im referring to the shiny metal rod the goes in and out of the shock housing). putting grease on it would attract a lot of sand, grit and dirt causing scoring on the rod surface....not good.
for rubber bushings, petroleum based grease such as wheel bearing grease is not good. same thing with wd 40. look for silicone based lubricants. btw, theres this marine grade grease thats great for rubber and poly bushings, cant remember it offhand but ill post it when i remember it.

I beleive your referring to silicone based grease they're great for the poly bushings it takes me a whole 6 months before they start squeeking again. (and that is with the tropical weather)

You can buy them at concorde for around 300 to 500 a can.

There is also a white grease by cyclo being sold there. It is in a spray can but when you spray it will solidify and turn into grease once in contact with air.
Masarap itong gamitin lalo na for the hard to reach places.

sounds good. can this be used after i get an underwash? what other suspension parts can be sprayed? i hear some slight sqneaking na...

i dont have to dismount anything ryt? just spray away lang?

on some components you will need to dismount

i usually spray it on the stabilizer links (EG) (ek no need)

as for the control arms...luluwangan ko lang yun bolt half way then spray not necesarilly taking it off.

Ang mahirap e yun upper a arm bushing ng front suspension you will need to take it down.

But if your using rubber bushings dapat wala masyadong squeek
