Altis 1.8G vs RAV4 1.8 SV

which do you think is faster? given the following considerations:

-they both use the same engine
-the Altis is lighter but uses an automatic transmission
-the RAV4 is heavier but uses a manual transmission

hmmm...i'm stumped. faster in what sense? acceleration? top end speed?

i actually have an answer but i'd like think it over once more before i post it.

kung top speed..i guess di magkakalayo yung 2..yun nga lang...mas stable siguro yung altis on higher speeds... not unless baguhin mo setup ng rav4 mo

kung faster in terms of acceleration sa drag racing... always may edge manual... pero would you seriously use either of the two for drag racing ..if you really want a drag car... mag 1.6 ka na altis na manual or 1.8 na manual if meron (1.8E?), which i am not quite sure... ask raymond na lang hehe

Going back to the question, I believe that the Altis is somewhat faster still. Overall mas magaan pa din siya sa RAV4, and somewhat lower ground clearance means more downforce (although mataas na din ang Altis, but lower still than a Rav) , hence more confidence during driving , hence more speed.

As for project car, both OK naman iyong dalawa, although tingin ko mas OK palitan ng 2ZZ-GE/TRD supercharger iyong RAV, you have to change the rear drums  to discs though for better stopping power.

  The car will win in the straight line given stock to stock . Magaan , mas mababa ang ALtis sa Rav4 so may edge ang Altis .

If they have the same weight, the manual RAV will likely outdrag the automatic Altis but I doubt if the RAV weights anywhere near the Altis.

Top speed? No question the Altis will win, matic or not. The higher drag coefficient and ground clearance of the RAV will limit how fast it will go.

Huh? Where did you get your info? Are you even in the Philippines? Last time we were with Toyota officials, they said they still do not have one. And they won't have one in the near future.

Rav4 SV po pinaguusapan. This is the 2WD version of the Rav4. It comes with a 1.8-liter engine. The 4WD Rav4 is the one with the 2.0-liter engine.
