lowering spring for revo?

Good day Everyone!

I have gone through all the options of lowering my revo now Iam ready to have it done this weekend. Now the ultimate question is "how low can I go without sacrificing ride comfort and lifespan of my under chasis parts? Would 2 inches of gap from wheel to wheel well (outer) be decent?" I would really appreciate all the inputs before I have this done.

By the way I have a 99 Sport Runner that looks like an 03 VX because of the cosmetic upgrades.
