Stock vs. Local headers

Which is better for my '96 Honda Civic VTi... ???

1] the local 4-1 crush bent headers     or
2] the stock 4-2-1 headers

Pansin ko humina hatak sa low RPM e..
As of now naka filter, local 4-1 crush bent headers, 2.25 piping & chambered muffler un car ko.

A certain mechanic said, mas ok daw kung ibalik ko nalang sa stock ung headers ko dahil ang mga honda engines daw don't need 4-1 headers instead ang kailangan e 4-2-1 na headers lalo na kung pang city driving lang naman..

kung ibalik ko sa stock ung headers masasayang b ung ibang exhaust components? ??? :-[

       Kung di nag work properly ang headers mo , may mali or di tamang pairing sa exhaust components mo . Totoong u wont need the 4-1 headers for these kine of headers ay will benefit u sa top end and Honda's specially VTECS ay di na yan kailangan .

Hihina talaga hatak sa low RPMs. 4-1 headers mo plus 2.25 inch pipings on a SOHC.
I found my "Honda" with TYPE ONE

IMO if your headers are the local crush bent just return your stock. They may even be performing worse than your OE headers.

I have nothing against local crush bent pipes but not for the headers. Everything else behind the headers is ok to have done locally but for the headers there are many bends so there would be many choke points if they were crush bent. And the cast iron they use isn't so good IMO.

as for me im ok with local crush bent...just make sure the makers know what their making...

in your case, there might be something wrong with what they did  ;)

crush bent or mandrel, it doenst make a difference. both will perform better than the stock manifold if done correctly. both can also be useless or can even cause you to loose power if done incorrectly.

however, mandrels are always better than crush in maximizing, providing better air flow.

putting a 4-1 header will cause the sohc engine to be less responsive in low rpms.

better pa kung naka b16 ka since the power at low rpms is enough kahit you customize the exhaust for more top end. HTH  ;D
