another criticism i have about C! mr. limjoco is that your write-ups looks like it was just lifted off a car brochure, one particular writer is guilty of this and all he writes about are stuff you can read in the brochure. might as well pick one up at thhe dealership diba? so what if it has 150bhp? so what if it has 200nm of torque? mcpherson struts all round or double wishbone? i think what is engaging to read is to translate all those information from the tester's body into words. let us feel how 300nm of evo torque pushes you behind the seats or how effective are the WRX's mcpherson struts into making a fast laptime. for me, doing a car review is translating it into emotions.

that's why i'm concerned who will be writing for autocar coz i hope you guys won't spoil this title for me.

BUGOY

I hope na yung stories at local articles ng Autocar Philippines will be much better than the ASEAN edition at sana yung comparos ng local version ay kaparehas ng sa U.K edition(may mga graphs, tech specs,etc...) sawa na kaimi sa lame jokes at na parang kinopya  sa brochure sa story.Sana next time Auto Motor Und Sport EVO o 4X4 Magazine Philippine version under ng C! Publishing. ;D

I regularly buy Autocar ASEAN, but it would still be nice if there's a Philippine edition. So far, there is for Singapore and Malaysia, and we get the former. It has the same price as C!, but the contents are much better. C! is very crude, with tons of spelling and grammatical errors, useless pictures (like 6 cars with their hoods raised but can't see any of their engines) and content that is said to be unoriginal. Also, information in this magazine can be obtained from less expensive (or even free) sources.

I know we should support local products, but the producers have their role of supplying quality merchandise to the market. The errors I specified are practically cost-free to improve. If none of these is rectified, then the magazine should only be sold at half the price at most.

I haven't seen an issue of Top Gear Philippines, but being based from UK, there just might be potential in this magazine.

Mr Limjoco,

I am very much pleased the hear about the new things that you and the C! staff will be offering to the public these coming months. In fact, I am really excited :D A tuning enthusiasts' magazine produced locally would really be great (although you are just targetting a certain market of the automobile industry, the point that you would dedicate so much time and effort into it must be commended) and would really give me a hard time to place my hard earned money elsewhere.
Looking forward to the very first issue. Hope it takes off very well :)
Hmmm... will you be featuring tuned-up rides of different everyday people in this new magazine? ;)

Kevin Limjoco

Dear R-A-Y,

Thank you for your warm enthusiasm.  However, I am inclined to inform you that Tech & Tuner is not solely dedicated to Car/Motorcycle Performance Tuning; the magazine is actually much broader than that.  Without giving up too much, I can definitely tell you though that everyman performance rides will definitely be featured extensively so your concerns are indeed covered.  T&T is so much more, it's a very unique concoction fused by distinctly C! personality, so unique that it may be exported as well (the international interest is very strong).  You will not have to wait very long; the maiden issue will be released before the end of October as a November issue.  You are free to come join our fabulous launch on November 11, the venue is hushed for now but I will inform you all at the appropriate time, the party/launch will be very different from C!, hang tight, its worth the short wait.  Official F1 content will begin in the November issue of C!, the next huge title will be launched during first quarter 2005 then second quarter for the next....Godspeed!

Nice news, but I hope T&T will be free from spelling and grammatical errors this time around. Correcting them will not cost you guys anything. Do that and I will support the magazine. ;)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

As much as I would like to write to you folks as often as possible, I unfortunately cannot, I already sleep no more than 5 hours a day.  Anyhow, there might be still some confusion of where the C! Team stands on our content.  Please review my previous replies to this thread and the Motioncar website chatroom once again.  I will be as brief as possible: Unless clearly specified, ALL our content are our own and original, Philippine Brochures as of date do not have extensive text or any content close to what we write, however, we do expand on their specifications much to the manufacturers continued surprise and gratitude, so much so that C! is used in the dealerships as reference (perhaps the reason why some folks think that some of our articles are brochure-like).  We do say what we feel and know, however we have been more forgiving during some comparos that is true.  I appreciate that C! has to be more obvious in our decisions, we recognize that a great number of readers simply want to know our verdicts and see our pictures, and will not read through the article.  However, we write for a tremendously broad local and international market, AND the cars are a lot better than the cars we used to drive in the 70s, 80s and even 90s.  Yes, our clear rankings will not only resurface but be more frequent. "Tons of errors?"  Curiously, as long as the content is foreign it is deemed to be true without question, but there is a cloud of doubt when it's done locally, folks, there are just the same amount of errors in the "foreign" magazines and that is FACT, AND you cannot use Microsoft Word Spell Check to track them, ALL international publishers will tell you the same, it's a guide not a total solution, there are more factors involved.  Perspective and knowledge will dictate and decipher this.  Folks hang in there, it's far easier to point out a negative than to act progressively positive.  C! content in truth costs more than three times the selling price, keep in mind that WE actually fly around the world to get the stories, C! is driven by pure blood and sweat! Great things are just around the corner on all fronts of C! and Top Gear, your readership experience as an enthusiast and consumer will only get enriched.  Thank you & Godspeed!

Top Gear or C! ? For me, pareho lang sila na gusto ko. I enjoy reading these mags while having my haircut. hehe... libre pa.

Sya nga pala, yung last issue ng C!, you can notice the plate numbers of the subarus on the cover... Pero sa loob, binura nila... la lang... nagtaka lang ako... hehe

How many times do you have to repeat that? You know what, why don't call them up and apply for a job as spelling and grammar checker. You can do it for free, as you said it will not cost them anything. I think that's the best support you can give them. And you'll also have a chance to be part of the team.  :)

And frankly I really didn't like squalastic's post regarding that. Para bang babagsak ang C! pag di niya sinuportahan diba?  No offense, pero dude they'd just gain support from others in replacement for the support that you won't give just because of that typo's.

For me, I've sticked to C! these past two years. Why? Because it's Filipino, and a braver set at that. :)

mz_danni

ako lang ha ;D, those grammar or any typographical error what make me entertained (hilarious ;D).
nevertheless, pictures are always the best statement ;).

at least it's not because of the typos kung bakit ako nawalan ng gana sa C!. even autocar has typos, and that's being distributed in SEA! i think all mag has or had typo errors.

Am going to do a reverse shift here cause I've just read the October issue of C! and it is very very good with tons of articles, the best of which is the Ferrari factory plant visit.

Too bad about the Enzo & 612 test drives at Fiorano Kevin, what a missed opportunity! But the factory tour was a coup by itself. Galing talaga ni Luca de Montezemolo.  Not only did he transform the F1 team and the road cars into world beaters, he did the same to the factory.

Like Ferrari, C! has already raised its game and we readers are all better served for it. :)

ok lang naman siguro to. hindi siguro talaga maiiwasan. minor errors lang naman yun. they're not perfect anyway.
