have you guys seen the newspaper ad for this product lately.  based from the forums that i've been into, this product is practically useless and unnecessary for efi cars.  if this is true then that inventor is just misleading the people into buying his product.

What's really the verdict on this one???

the owner of abiva publishing had khaos installed in their fleet cars and i've personally driven a 96 civic lxi they use before and after khaos... my uncle uses it as a company car and to me ung idle niya mas smooth after khaos and nadagdagan talaga ng mga 40% ung mileage nya.... and he installed it half a year ago and his civic still seems to be working fine...

dun naman sa Exped ng boss niya, they installed khaos and went from 3-4 kms all the way up to 6 kms/ liter... sa cefiro V6 from mga 5.5kms/liter naging 9 kms/ liter ang consumption...

from a friend naka crv, he's damn sure na mas smooth daw ung idle niya and on feel daw mas magaan manakbo ung kotse....

just my 2 cents.... ;D

egzbuen

my friend who has a 96 cefiro and 97 city both installed with khaos really had a big improvement in terms of mileage. really BIG ....the catch.... their idling has been eratic ....this is the reason why im holding back in installing one in my galant

It's a totally useless airbleed device.  Airbleed devices have been deemed bogus by the U.S. Federal Trade Commision, EPA and the U.K. Department of Transport.

Its also been debunked on this website: http://www.fuelsaving.info/atomisation.htm

The author of the site worked for Rover's advanced engine group and had a hand in the development of BMW's Valvetronic. http://www.fuelsaving.info/biog.htm

A device attached to the intake assembly after the throttle plate cannot adjust A/F mix to reduce fuel delivery since it doesn't control the carb nor the fuel injectors unless it's a true feedback device that's read by the ECU/PCM.  The before cat 02 already does this job and the ECU/PCM adjusts A/F mix after reading the O2.

If it does indeed work and introduces air into the A/F mix then all that it's introducing is technically a vacuum leak.  If it just introduces a minor leak then it just acts like an idle by-pass.  That, in effect, leans out the mix a bit but doesn't control fuel amount.  On an EFI vehicle, if you introduce more air (like forced induction), the ECU/PCM will compensate by adding more fuel.  Thus, it doesn't really make sense to add more air to the mix from a fuel economy standpoint.

Why would you add more air to an engine that's designed to run with certain A/F ratios?  Forced induction does this but the objective is also to add more fuel for more power.

Planas told me that Khaos adds air when the throttle is closed (or nearly closed) to create an ideal (stoichiometric) situation.  He said when the throttle is closed (when idling) the A/F is almost 1:1.  That's totally B.S. and the engine's factory idle by-pass and ECU/PCM ensures that an engine idles near stoichiometry or, in most cases, leaner than 14.7:1.  In carb vehicle, you can set A/F ratio by simply adjusting the A/F mix screw.  Also, motor vehicle internal combustion engines cannot run on an A/F mix of 1:1.

If wanna make someone like Planas and investors rich, go ahead an install Khaos.

If you want similar effects for free, go puncture a vacuum line or dislodge your intake manifold gasket to introduce a minor vacuum leak into your intake manifold.

At best, Khaos is harmless.  At worst, it can cause a bit of rough idling or set a check engine light.  If it sets the check engine light, make sure your installer doesn't try to do a cover-up by pulling the bulb to hide the Chaos that Khaos has caused.

i wouldnt install this thing if they gave it to me for free. but if they promise one replace my car should something happen to the engine then maybe i'll give it a go.  ;D

kung fuel economy lang, id buy a honda city or a kia picanto.  ;)

it is not logical to buy an Exped or any other gas guzzler out there then knock the heck out of it with fuel-saving devices...IMHO lang

he's right, get a small car if you want to save on fuel...

that's the best way to cut costs! ;)

i never tinkered with my engine too much, the last tiime we did that with our old jeep it gave up the ghost... ;)

IMHO, if these things REALLY work, why doesn't the auto manufacturers offer them as standard on their line of vehicles? just asking ;)
"me...me...me...me...I hope you like what I've done to the place..."

kiro

marami nagsasabi sakin na effective daw pero i don't believe them...

do Khaos install the device themselves?
baka ginagalaw timing or may dinudutdot na iba?  ::)

mahal rin masyado for 6K+++

same reason why governments have a standard BS line.

money  ;D

well, parang mga undocumented and untried quick fixes or patent medicine yan mga ganyan...buti pala hindi ako bumili ng fuel saver daw na yan...sa US they had these magnets you place on the fuel line to 'burn the gas more efficiently' daw...magnetic fuel polarizers ata yun...bogus din... ;)

the gov't helps fraudsters and criminals so long as they get their share of the loot...
instead of protecting us, the motoring public, they actually help unscrupulous people to rip us off 'more efficiently' din ;)

i'm telling all my friends who drive their own rides to stay away from this horse$#&T... ;)

Well one of the reasons I can think why this would succeed is that the vice-president of the Republic has heavily invested into it.

Some would argue why then do some Ford dealerships offer the device if it were bad? Well to the dealers who are trying real hard to push cars out the door, I doubt damage to the vehicle noticed after the sale would bother them that much, they are after the sale commission after all and there is no lemon law for cars here that is implemented.

Besides, if the car breaks after install, most will bring it in to the casa and one way or another they will find a way to suck some money from you while you stay.
Go stable, just right... TO GO FASTER!

It's bad that people buy this thing without understanding how it's supposed to work.

It's worse that our government is apparently even hailing Planas as some sort of brilliant inventor.

So our VP invested heavily in this thing pala? How typical of him. Imagine when someone like him becomes President.  Daymn.

To sum it all up, you can't engineer something if you are not one in the first place.  ;)

Well, this guy is all over the tv holding his head up high saying this is for the pinoys!!! My God!!! Pity us!!!!

Anyway for me this device is as effective as snake oil is to fight disease.!! ;D

In effect this guy is saying he is smarter than the engineers who build cars!!! ;D
