For overall performance and easy maintenance I'd go for K&N. :)

I have this drop in filter by HKS. after about two years of continued use and washing, it shrunk. is there a replacement filter element available?

I think HKS filters aren't washable (at least that's what I know for the mushroom type). The foam is supposed to be replaced with the same frequency as the original air filter that came with the car.

How do you clean dry type filters? Coz the guy said to use air pressure to blow the dirt away and that's it... but i know it's not good for the filter coz it will destroy the filter element... ::)

ooops! if filter isn't washable then it'll be very expensive to replace the filter(around 2k as per fusion r) every 10000kms. i should have bought the K&N instead.

im using K&N, ok na ok. tanong ko lang kung normal ung parang sipol na tunog when idle. then, when u floor the gas, may malagom na tunog kahit nasa mataas na gear ka (ex. 4th) pero takbo mo lang e 60 kph.

Yes that's perfectly normal.

apparently aem has it's own cleaning kit http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=102

for the rest just rinse it off in a tub of water and let dry as far as i know.

I'm happy with my HKS Reloaded filter. It allows less dirt to enter the engine compared to my ARC set-up.
