Need advise...

Is it ok to have my stock shocks refilled ?  I hear there are shops that do this service.  Is this advisable if you're within a limited budget ?

Can you recommend any good shops?

oh shizZle!? man, I checked out Cruven's site and saw the labor prices, ang mura! well, I converted it to $$$. like the engine over haul is 6,000 Pesos, so thats about $120. I charge anywhere from $1,600 (83,000 Pesos) to $2,000 (104,000 Pesos) (hindi pa kasama parts doon.) pero kasama na yung price ng pag-tangal and kabit ng engine. thats why its better to just change a bad engine to used-low mileage one that comes from Japan. since it costs less (anywhere from $200-$1,500) per engine. plus anywhere from $600- $2,000 for the labor. -KBR

yes there was a discussion about damper refilling. One of the shops is ZEE.

OT. KBR, Both here and in your place have highly skilled mechanics. Maybe the difference is the technology, like you have more available tools there ready at your disposal.
Yes. 6K is cheap. You'll have a hard time making a living here! ;D ;D ;D Peace man!

Thanks very much!  You've been very helpful.  My car's a Honda City Type Z.  OEM shocks are 4000/pc.  There are replacement shocks (Paraut) which costs 3000-3500, but feedback is not very good.  Not much love for the City in terms of aftermarket suspension parts/upgrades.

By the way, if I installed lowering springs (Eibach Pro-kit / Tanabe NF) on rebuffed OE shocks, kakayanin kaya?  Anybody has experience on this?

Happy new year to all!

i have no experience on what you just mentioned. pero knowing that installing lowering springs on stock OE shocks will definitely shorten the life of ur shocks.  considering that they are already rebuffed, there is a chance it might not last as long as bnew ones. there isn't much play with on the stock shocks with aftermarket springs installed.

i don't agree that nothing beats bnew...

nag pa refill ako kay ZEE.  panalo sya, they replace your shocks with nitrogen gas.  THe good thing about this is may 3-year warranty and you can customize the pressure - pwedeng soft of stiff - at pwede mong ibalik para palitan yung ride.  ayos diba? at a fraction of a cost ng bagong shocks (na masisira rin eventually before 3 yrs).

And what about the shock parts like bushings and valves inside the shock itself?

Pano mga bushing/vavles na sabi nga ni sir Conan?

ANyway pa OT: pwede ba magdala ng nitrogen tank (yun portable syempre) para whenever/wherever you can add/remove pressure?  Yun pang airgun pwede?

THanks

i think this is ok. cheap lng din siya. my friend had his stock shocks filled by zee, nakakaaliw coz pwede mo iadjust yung ride from soft to harsh.

we thought hindi tatagal yung shocks, after abt 1 1/2 yrs, tinanggal namin yung shock assembly, tested kung ayos parin yung shocks, to our surprise, ayos parin. matigas and mabilis parin yung rebound ng shocks.

as for sa mga valves and bushings inside, haha wala akong alam jan.

saan po ung ZEE na pagawaan?? around how much pa refill ng gas shocks?? thanx!!! i myt do this than buying a new set of gas shocks...
