Get a prime macro lens.

60mm f/2.8 or 100mm f/2.8

IMHO Canon doesn't have a 28-70 f/2.8. 24-70 f/2.8 ata sa Canon.

brent, mayroon sa canon.
the canon 28-70mm f/2.8 is php. 69,900.00   
the canon 100mm 2.5 naman is at php. 36,990.00
may canon 50mm 2.5 din at php. 21200.00

so you think ill get the 100mm na lang. honestly, after all my expenses with the dslr, the 28-700 is way out of my league.

i got a canon 70-300mm usm iii (quick focus)  f/4-5.6. i got it at php.14000.00 

the 70-300mm IS (image stabilizer) version is at php.110000.00 ok! saka na.

btw, the new canon 400D came out recently. it has 10mp and  cost around php. 49000.00 in the mall. in hidalgo i am sure that its alot alot cheaper

it was a battle between the 350d and d70

correct me if i'm wrong, but the 400d is up against the d80? or are they different in calibre?

right now yes kasi bagong labas pareho.. and konti lang ang price difference. in terms of features, it's more of D80 vs 30D..  maski luma na ang 30D. 

..and D50 vs 350D

so if ever nikon comes out with a successor of the D50, wala pang competitor ang 400D kasi it also has new tricks up its sleeves

yup! the 400d is the digital rebel xti.
the 350d is called the digital rebel xt.

i am not very familiar with nikon but in terms of mp vs mp. the nikon d80 has 10.2mp. canon 400d has 10mp.

while the nikon d50 has i think 6mp while the canon 350d has 8mp. sony manufactured the sensor of the d50 btw.

the iso rating of the d50 is auto, 200-1600 while the 350d has auto, 100 to 1600.

i tried out the 400d. well, feature wise, its similar (more or less) to the 350d except that the 400d has a bigger lcd screen and 10mp. the accessories of the 350d and 400d are the same as well.

the only problem i find with the canon 400d and 350d is that these dslr are "small". my hands are big and soon i need to get a battery grip.
