The result was not surprising at all...real world result..they shouldve put a Z06 and a Viper GTS or GTR in the pack

The 355 & 360 show their age. With their power advantage, they should be up there with the GT3 but they are not.  Their brakes just aren't up to snuff.  A 360CS should give the GT3 a run for its money though.

every time i see a race of an nsx, parating overheating.. common problem ba yan ng nsx?

bka kulang yng air flow since nasa likod yng engine. and maybe that's why the top of the line nsx have that f1-style air intake

agree re: inclusion of american muscle.  there's a more recent race at a smaller track where they had the Z06 in there vs latest Gallardo and 997S, and the new STi special ed "S204" model.

Gallardo had the fastest lap time by over a second, with the 997 and Z06 virtually tying for 2nd place.  this was a tighter, more technical course however, and the Z06 wasn't able to exploit its power advantage, whereas the 997S was able to even things with braking and that rear-engined grip out of the tighter corners.

this GT3 is about as old as the Modena.  its a mkII 996 GT3 with 380HP, not the latest 997 version that has 415HP.

but yes, they need to update the battle with the current F430 and the new GT3.  the power "gap" between the ferrari and the porsche has widened though.  used to be 400HP vs 380HP, and now its 492HP vs 415HP.

should be quite interesting  ;D

Agree.  But the GT3 was made for the track.  I understand it is very stiffly sprung vis-a-vis the Modena and quite uncomfortable for street use.  Can you share your experience on this hesperus?

Although the F430 beat the 997T (and the ZO6, Ford GT, Viper, Gallardo SE) in the recent Road & Track comparo at Vairano, I would imagine that the new 997 GT3RS would be a tougher nut to crack on the track.

i've driven a (mkI) GT3 on the track, and a Modena on the street.  unfortunately, never drove the GT3 on the street a Modena on the track!  But yes, the GT3 is definitely more "track focused" than the Ferrari.  clutch is quite heavy, and everything feels really "meaty" and "hefty".  parang heavy-duty talaga.

the Modena feels relatively delicate in comparision.  Not that it feels like it would break (though Ferrari reliability and durability leaves a lot to be desired compared to most German cars I know,) but things are lighter in the Modena.  It was a actually very very easy to drive.  If it wasn't so flashy, you could practically make it a daily driver...

What I would like to see is a comparo between these cars with the same race pads and the same race compound tires.
Theres too much variance in brake compounds and tires...

true.  but as long as that's how they (ALL) came from the factory, then its stock-to-stock.

vette driver can complain that an M3 CSL or Evo comes with trick rubber
...but the evo and BMW driver can complain that the vette is packing too much firepower...
and they can all complain that the Westfield is underweight.

but once you start tuning suspensions, engines, etc... so they're no longer showroom stock, then for me, all bets are off...

Impressive result for the NSX-R.

But nothing beats the exhaust note of those Ferrari's.

Too bad Tsuchiya DNF early on in that Skyline.

Isn't the radiator mounted in front just like all the mid-engined sportscars?

Re: top mount intake...I think you're talking about the NSX-R GT of which only 5 were made for JGTC homologation purposes.  Cold intake system will not solve your overheating problems, if any.  You need a bigger radiator for that of which probably the NSX lacks.  Or it could also be that there is some kind of coolant leak during the race.

There is no dishonor in losing the race. There is

oh yeah ur right.. kala ko kasi that intake was to help in the cooling..
