A friend from Nissan says this is this new model to come out in the first quarter of 2007. This is the Model we all know as Altima.

Fourth generation
2007 Nissan Altima
Production:    2007- present
Platform:    Nissan D platform
Engine:    2.5 L QR25DE I4
3.5 L VQ35DE V6
Transmission:    6-speed manual
CVT
Wheelbase:    109.3 in.
Length:    189.8 in.
Width:    70.7 in.
Height:    57.9 in.

The fourth generation Altima was announced at the 2006 New York Auto Show on April 12, 2006. It is the first vehicle to use the smaller Nissan D platform, with a new front and upgraded rear suspension. The wheelbase is 1 inch shorter than the third generation Altima, but interior space is mostly unchanged. The Maxima and Murano will continue on the larger FF-L platform.

The 2007 Altima uses revised versions of the engines in the third generation model. The VQ35DE 3.5 L V6 engine will produce 270 hp, and the QR25DE 2.5 L I4 will produce 175 hp.[1] A 6-speed manual is standard, and a continuously variable transmission replaces the traditional automatic as the optional transmission. The 2007 Altima sports some more recent innovations in the market, including, but not limited to, "push-button start", Bluetooth capability for cell phones and a parking camera.

The all-new Nissan Altima which you posted is ONLY for the North American market, its also manufactured only in North America.
This is the 1st mid-size Nissan to use the new D-platform.

The Previous Altima, current USDM Maxima and Teana use the older FF-L platform.

The model we are getting is the facelifted Nissan Teana, a unit was previewed at Nissan's Christmas party.

We are getting the Teana with a 170hp 2.3 liter VQ V6 engine.

Two models will be available on March 2007:
230JK: P1.68M
230JM: P1.88M

*The P1.88M 230JM may seem expensive for a small displament model, but it has features that can match the P2M Camry 3.5Q.
If Toyota were to make a 4-cylinder model with the specs of the 3.5Q it would probably cost just as much as the Teana 230JM.

For those who think the Teana's nose & tail look similar to that of the facelifted Sentra, this is the reason....
The Sentra was facelifted to look like the "then" new Teana which was launched earlier.
We got the Sentra, but we never got the Teana.

Sweet Lover

4 cyl is not bad at all. i think it's just suitable due to high gas prices. try having an 8 cyl. i have a 6 cyl car and im still complaining!

< jao >

I was able to ride a 230JM in Singapore last September 2005. Very spacious cabin, ultra-quiet and soft ride. I can also feel that the 2.3L engine is quite powerful (in a passenger's observation).

The USDM only 4th gen Altima will never be the TEANA in Asia.

and as for the TEANA. As usual NMPI is sooooooooooo late. this car is a two year old model. nothing to be excited about. kung nilabas nila yan nung 05' baka bumenta pa.

Fuel efficiency is more on the displacement and not the number of cylinders.

The Teana 230's engine may have 6-cylinders, but its only a 2.3 liter engine, with 170hp(173PS) it can match the slightly bigger 2.4 liter engines of the Accord, Camry and Galant.

how is the size compared to a camry or even the cefiro? same or bigger?

170hp for 6 cycl? i think thats kinda bad thinking that the current 2.5 4 cycl xtrail is making 180hp ....the teana might be underpowered

Based on what I remember, I think the Teana is slightly longer than the Camry (or almost the same as the Accord), but definitely bigger than the current Cefiro.

You're forgetting something... the Teana 230JK/230JM's engine is 2.3 liters, the X-trail's engine is 2.5 liters.

X-trail 250X: 178 hp (180 PS) 2.5 liter inline-4 = 71.2 hp/L
Teana 230JK/230JM: 171 hp (173 PS) 2.3 liter V6 = 74.3 hp/L

The Teana's 2.3 makes more hp per liter than the X-trail's 2.5 engine.

Other than that the 2.3 liter V6 can match the hp of the bigger 2.4 liter inline-4's of the Camry, Accord and Galant.

saw the actual teana unit for the philippine market...
it was being photographed for top gear...
imo... looks better in picture....
the 2 ends kinda slopes too much...
not much finesse....
the interior is nice and roomy...
but I do think its underpowered...
I can't remember where I read it but its the heaviest among its competitors....
they really should have brought it out sooner....
just like skyline gtr said... its already 2 years old...
it was already in hong kong 2 years ago....
