hi all -

i need to get the tint off the windows of the car i purchased. its a 1990 model so its got that 80s violet tint all around it. yeah im a fan of the 80s and  i can listen to duran duran driving all day but the 80's tint has to go! i want clear windows!

yesteday i spent half a day working on the front windows, driver and passenger. i still have 5 windows to work on. i used windex and household degreaser to loosen the adhesive but that did not help very much. yeah the tint seemed like it was put on using super glue. let me know if you have something in mind. but dont tell me to use gasoline and torch the tint..i have a crazy cousin telling me that.

also, the rear window is going to be a problem because it has the defogging lines so i got to be very careful doing it.

sir use a blade, yung pang shave, rubie gilet, tapos strip a portion then hila dahan dahan, then pag tangal na, use joy ultra with anti-back, mixed with water, spray small about on the area and again use the blade to shave the sticky part off...thanks :)

Sweet Lover

thats not a bad idea! yeah i did use a blade the other day. i will try that over the weekend if i have spare time. thank you.

maybe you would like the idea of installing "clear" tints?  it still offer heat rejections and UV protection sa interior. unlike kung totally walang tint.

if interested ka then have the tint removed by the installer nalang then  :)

hi sir, hope this helps..
removed my tint some time ago.
peeled off the tint slowly para buo siya matanggal,
tapos was able to remove the adhesive residue using shampoo, eureka! moment nga EH. used pantene BTW.
small amount lang sa basahan tapos water para bumula.
work on the adhesive na lang by rubbing the basahan against the window.

i have the same question. Need to remove my old tints na kulay talong na!

I was in Banawe last week and asked the "freelancers" how much they charge for tint removal. Sabi P350 daw! Is that a good price?

Tempted ako to DIY it pero baka di ako maging successful...

bowkia

Sir, 350 is kinda high, It should be only around 150-250 tops. evanglista or banawe. thankyou.

Ako, i just sprayed it with warm water and shampoo solution (hehe, trying to complicate) and used a thin knife to take it off. Ang sarap kaya  magtanggal nyan!
