i think all of your choices are great pero since your coming from an sedan ... for me try to test drive the new subaru forester :) its the closest thing to a sedan na suv :) its really a fun to drive and im sure magugustuhan mo :) i think kasi your choices are medyo too bulky and too big if ever :)

the fortuner is really like a full sized suv, the rav4 is not as cuteute anymore malaki narin e ... the santa fe same as the fortuner, the xtrail medyo dated na ... although its also a very good choice :) then the crv, the new one is soon to come

try to go to subaru .. you might like the forester :) then take a look narin at the suzuki grand vitara :)

Thanks for that info, but i don't go for GM motors anymore.  Hmm still figuring out which one's the best choice.

Yes just wait for the new CRV. They already released it a month ago here in Dubai.

How's the feedback so far?

subaru is not handled by GM autoworld any longer. it has parted ways with GM and is now handled by motor image pilipinas. their new showroom is along EDSA right beside the ford showroom near greenhills.

guys, the lady came from a 1.6 liter sedan, if she moves up to the 2 liter gas displacement category, then i'd bet she'd in for a shock! that's why i voted for the korean's superior diesel technology.

btw, fortuner is ladder-frame chassis, while santa fe is monocoque construction, which partly explains the fortuner's bouncy ride and the santa fe's more pliant ride.

subaru is no longer under the GM Autoworld brand so i suggest you go visit their showroom at edsa :) im sure youll like the forester just like your average sedan with higher ride height and a more punchy engine :)

I am also biased towards a Forester, but since we are also talking about fuel consumption, I would say Sante Fe.

Maybe it would help which would weigh more in the criteria: fuel consumption or resale value? :)
Oh, and how much do you spend on gas in a week? Maybe the experts here can then compute the added consumption if you increase the engine displacement.

Relax lang kayo sa dubs.

Tanong niyo muna kung mahilig yung lady driver because if not contradiction lang since economy ang pinaguusapan.

Buti pa Forester nalang then STI kit. ;D

Either Forester or Fortuner.

Fortuner is the popular choice because of the price sobrang mura but you still get a quality car at + 200,000.00 price level.

Hi Guys,

Greetings!

Anyway I just dropped by to ask for your opinion and comment 'cause I'm about to buy an SUV and still undecided on which to take either Toyota Rav 4; Fortuner or Hyundai Sta. Fe. I had a Chevrolet Optra before and I observed that it's not anymore advisable to have a sedan especially for everyday use sa mga sira-sirang kalye natin d2.

Please help me decide considering the ff: Fuel Consumption; Over-all performance inc. safety and comfort; Re-sale value. My first choice was really a Toyota Rav 4 since I'm a lady driver, I prefer sana talaga mini-suv lang, hirap din kc ng masyadong malaki, but the problem i see w/ that auto is its fuel consumption. As for Hyundai Sta. Fe, m not sure pa sa performance nya kc bago lng tska resale value dko din sure, but the good thing is diesel sya and sophisticated ung design. For Fortuner, diesel din and it's toyota din so mdyo tested na talga ung brand, kaso me bad comments na rin about Fortuner like matagtag daw etc...

Hope you could help me decide by giving your comments for the above-mentioned vehicles.

Many thanks. God Bless!!

among your choices I would go for the Sta. Fe (CRDi), it's a bang-for-the-buck SUV.

How about a Hyundai Tucson? baka magustuhan mo or an X-trail probably.

andrew

I the  bang for buck sta fe
resale rav
but in the end given price rang and eventual fuel economy the subaru is worth a look the non turbo version will be cheaper and will have closer fuel economy to a 1.6L sedan or even better. the turbo version will  be less poorer economy  but will have a sun roof. something the others wont.
given the influx of new cars resale for all of these SUV's wont bee too far off except   for the toyota

For about the same price as a Fortuner 3.0 D4D i'd rather have a Forester XT. Carlike handling, 2.5li turbo and 230hp FTW!

Any idea about the specs of the '07 crv and when will it be available to the market? Have they released any in other countries?
the new crv has been out in the US for a few months already. Test drove it.  It drives like most small sized suv like the rav4 and suzuki.

Um guys, just because the threadstarter is a girl, doesn't mean she can't drive something big.  My cousin graduated from a Kia Pride into a Nissan Frontier and she didn't have any problems.  Btw, the Frontier is longer than most mid-size SUV's [my Pajero included].

One the other hand, some 30-ish guys I know can't even drive anything bigger than a compact ute.
