Wow, this kid Hamilton is fantastic.  2 races, 2 podiums, this time a 2nd placer wiht only the World Champion beating him.  I dont' think there was ever a rookie F1 driver who has a better star record.

Massa totally blew it.  Also Raikonnen.  Why didn't he block Hamilton in the start?  Instead, he had to stay behind Massa and allowed the Kid to get the inside to Turn 1 and 2nd place.  The Ferrari's lost it at the start.  They weren't acting like a team like the Mclaren team.  Hamilton expertly played interferance for Alonso and allowed him to pull away.  What a dynamic duo.

I guess this is the advantage of pairing a rookie with a #1 driver.  In Ferrari, you don't know who's the #1 and both want to win.  But I think you have to identify the #1 and #2 driver in a team so that you can complement each other.  Schumi and Barichello played those roles to a tee.  So did Fisi and Alonso.

what a boring race. the only good part is before entering the first corner and the next few minutes or so.. where massa trying to making passes at lewis on poor locations.

after that, the race is pretty much set.

i agree hamilton made the race fun. too bad for massa, he was too eager, he had the better car but ended up losing it. He could have waited for Hamilton to pit then push but that's water under the bridge now.

Yup! i agree.. start pa lang they blew it na. They both (ferrari) went outside and giving hamilton the inside crack at them. On massa's part he went from hero to zero :P hamilton made the race much easier for alonso when he made the two ferrari cars slug it out with him.. a very promising driver for mclaren.

Massa couldn't even get pass the bmw on 4th place.. maybe he is taking extra caution after he went wide when trying to pass hamilton ::)  Great and strong run for the bmw on 4th place.

IMHO it's going to be a Ferrari-McLaren battle again this season. Mclaren is a totally different car from last year. Great work! :)

But, im still a ferrari fan here ;D looking forward to bahrain :)

Btw, i like the new G-meter graphics they show on the screen :)

yup! a Ferrari-McLaren battle after 2-seasons of Renault being the star team. looks like McLaren really poured their efforts last year into developing this year's car.

anyway, I hope Massa keeps his head cool for the next races and I hope Ferrari comes back on top.  :)

as expected, massa made another boo-boo to add to his list of avoidable boo-boos.. he was too much on the inside and even braked late when he didn't have to as he already got the position from lewis.  that's why he's paid 1/5th the salary of kimi. that's a good indicator in theory who's the #1 and #2 driver..  ::)

kimi wasn't able to find a way around lewis coz at the start he was heavy with fuel and was probably on a conservative engine map to preserve his engine. when the team saw that kimi could catch lewis in the final stages, they probably let him change engine settings and go for it coz he was already light on fuel and the engine could hold up to the finish.

Yes pretty interesting cuz it tells you if a car is handling well...the "dot" goes to the max braking point then shifts over to the side when   cornering gradually lowering as the car slows towards the apex then accelerates out again.

If the car is not handling well, you can see that dot moving erratically or in-and-out.  It should move smoothly in a perfect "D" when cornering to the right or inverted D when cornering left.  In the Honda, its clear the car is not handling well, losing grip on the corner exit.

Grabe, Lewis mentioned this in the post-race interview.  He said he "tricked" Massa into doing what he did.  The nerve of the rookie to say that in public that he fooled the Ferrari driver into making a mistake (he kept it tight coming out of the previous corner then moved to the outside when he saw Massa catching up.  So Massa couldn't see the next corner and misjudged the braking point in his eagerness to dive on the Lewis).  Then after he crossed the finish line, he tells his engineers that he will get a win on his own soon.  The Kid has guts and confidence too!  I don't hear even Schumi or Alonso talking like that.  Si Alonso nga, in the pre-race interview, he downplays his chances by saying something like "the Ferrari's are clearly quicker but I think we will be closer to them this time than Melbourne."  Much humbler huh?   ;D

why shouldn't he be confident?  ;D he knows he's got the skill and equipment to do it..  ;)  when alonso was with renault he was also like that.. that's why he's 2x world champion.

the only one who's overly boastful in wrong instances is jpm.. though he had the skill, he didn't have the right equipment. but still he was boastful.. overly nga lang.. hehe..

hehe its ok to be confident.. why not, may talent sya and a good car/team to back it up. pero medyo out of line na yun "yeah, i tricked him into the corner" to a f1 veteran when its only his 2nd race in his whole f1 career.

but hopefully that should wake up the ferrari team specially massa to get in shape. winning the pole isnt all that if he cant keep it there :)

Yeah, actually, it's a common thing in racing to do that to someone following you from behind.  That's part of the game of racing but to say that in his post-race interview, it was like he was gloating over the loser.  Wala lang, I just find it shocking, funny and entertaining at the same time, for a rookie to say that, like it was some small go kart race at Speedzone, and especially to their main nemisis this season.  I wonder if Ferrari is gonna go for payback the next time.  Hehe   ;D

Ferrari will definitely go for payback in Bahrain. They'll be using fresh engines, so no conservative strategy for Kimi.  ;)  and hopefully, Massa has learned his lesson and will keep his head cool.  ;D

Won't everyone be on fresh engines though?  I think the rules are the same engine for 2 races, if you change, you start at the back of the grid, am I right?

Boy, if Alonso wins the Championship again, what an impact that will make on F1.  It will prove that there is still that "driver's element" in F1.  Next year, they will outlaw na traction control making it more and more dependent on driver's skill rather than computer electronics.  That's a significant change and a welcome one, IMO.

When more and more street cars are going to traction controls, F1 is outlawing them just as they outlawed turbos.  Will ABS be outlawed too?

I love this development...shows you that the FIA is putting emphasis on driver development and less on driver aids.  Technology can turn an average driver into a safer and faster one but it can't make you an excellent one.

The start of the race was pretty good. Until Massa positioned himself in the outer part of turn one leaving ample room for Alo and Hamilton to get in the race line.

Kimi, being the faster Ferrari driver could have passed Hamilton, if Massa gave it up third place to Kimi.

An upset for Massa. He is the loser of the race.

Hamilton on the other hand show his prowess. As his first time to race on that track. Very good drive for hamilton. It's not impossible for him to get a championship.

Hmm. kinda boring nga. Alo just flew all the way.

Seems like the cars are turning for the two teams, ferrari and mclaren - mclaren being the better one in terms of teamwork and overall packaging.
