One of our friends showed up at our gathering last Friday and said he already has an STI Hatchback in his possession (yes that's here in the Philippines). It's still in RHD form though. He's waiting for a conversion kit.

Those are photo illustrations done by Best Car Magazine, in other words these are just chops(photoshop edited images) based on the regular Impreza.

The all-new Impreza STI has not been released in Japan yet, this is the reason for the teaser photo.
It will be unvelied next month at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Your friend might be talking about the Impreza S-GT(JDM equivalent of the WRX with a 2.0 turbo) with the STI sports package.


Just a reminder, the photo I posted is an Impreza with an STI sports kit/package, and not the real STI with wide fenders.

Based on the list of STI sports parts for the new Impreza, brakes are not yet included.

By the way, the S-GT replaces the WRX in Japan. like before, its appearance is identical to the export market WRX but it uses a smaller but stronger 247hp(250PS) 2.0 liter turbo engine vs the lower reving 225hp 2.5 liter turbo found in the export market WRX.

Like before, the same can be expected with the STI versions, the JDM model will probably stick to a 2.0 turbo, while the export models get a stronger 2.5 liter turbo.

Real Impreza STI or Impreza with an STI sports kit/package? Just ask for a photo of the fenders and see if they are flared like the ones on the teaser photo and spy photos.

i think JDM GD STI's still use the 2.0 EJ20. i just don't know about this newer one.
