MOTUL

tad,

ideally 30-40 thousand kilometers.

H2,

MOTUL Engine Clean is created specifically to clean engine internals and restore the original compression of your engine.  at 300ml, it works wonders vs. literally "FLUSHING" your engine.

Its non-solvent. and you can change from mineral to synthetic just as Mr. Conan said.

Nonie,

I think you'll be better off using the Specific CRDi Oil because it is made specifically for your engine.  FYI, Motul has been making this oil for years- since in Europe, CRDi technology has long been accepted and used - (prolly a decade or so) thats why, MOTUL has mastered the technology and can give you the best performance for your CRDi.

try to look at the case of the trooper...  i believe one factor of its not-so-good performance is the oil used for its pms.

Manga,

I think  ACEA B4 = Can be used for CRDi..

might be true however there is this rule of Motul that we create oils making the present standards as Starting Point. In the case of CRDi Specific, we have B4 oils that we don't recommend to be used on CRDi engines. :)

Quetion din regarding gear oil.

Tama ba na napalit ako gear oil nung 80thou kilometers?

Kailangan ba palitan yun?

another oil-related question:

Can changing from a high viscosity oil to a lower viscosity oil improve one's fuel economy? My car's currently on full synth 15W50 oil. a friend of mine told me that this grade is too thick for a new car and he recommended that I use a "thinner" oil like 5W30 to improve fuel economy. what do you guys think?  :)

conrad

for ATF, what does motul recomend?

also when you change atf from stock to motul, do you need to flush the old oil?

on my experience changing to a lower viscosity does improve fuel economy, from using 10w40 i currently use 5w30 and it improve fuel mileage a lot

a big YES
When i had 10W40 Shell semisynth i cover Makati-Valenzuela (~22km per trip) back and forth with 5L of Unleaded gas everyday; I changed to 15W50 Shell full synth and cover the same distance with 6-7L of unleaded gas na. :P

10W30 is revving happily and you bet responsiveness with a light foot on the pedal. Because the oil flows better.

oil viscosity chart

not all similar oil weight have the same viscosity. Do you wonder why? ::)

thanks! that was very informative!  :)

hmmm... that info makes me excited for my next oil change! I just refueled my car last night and was able to calculate my fuel economy. I found out that I did 12.0939km/l on V-Power! :D  and my car's using 15W50 full synth oil! I wonder what my fuel economy would be if I was using 5W30...  ::)

Sa experience nyo may connection ba sa type ng oil and viscosity kung bakit tahimik ang engine?

another oil question:

Is it ok to use 5W30 grade oil in a country as hot and humid as ours? I checked my car's manual and found out that 5W30 is for temp ranges of -29 deg C to 12 deg C.
