another oil question:

Is it ok to use 5W30 grade oil in a country as hot and humid as ours? I checked my car's manual and found out that 5W30 is for temp ranges of -29 deg C to 12 deg C.

It's ok as long as your engine is relatively new with tight tolerances. For older engines it's not advisable as piston rings need higher viscosities in order to seal well.

hey if my car requires synthetic oil (as required by manufacturer), should i really put synthetic in it? i find expensive and i dont notice any difference anyway.

Adrian

tito boy, if its in the manual, please do.  and also be particular of the viscosity indicated there. :)

please be wary also of the labels 'synthetic performance' of some sort, look for the true synthetics

What's your car, tito boy? If the manual "requires" you to use synthetic, you should. If it "recommends", then you have the option not to. From my experience, Toyota manuals do not "require", rather they only "recommend" what oil and viscosity.

tito boy, our H-Tech 100 10W40 goes for 430 per liter.  Its the lowest priced 100% synthetic oil available for your car. :)

yes, it lasts longer vs. mineral based oils but of course, the manufacturer's prescribed change interval is best. :)

You can visit Motul Oil Service shops for oil service.  PM me so i can lead you to the nearest location.

for ATF, what does motul recomend?

also when you change atf from stock to motul, do you need to flush the old oil?

The Motul ATF-1A is the only ATF in the market that can be used for you Altis A/T other than the Toyota specific oil. Other ATF may cause damage or degrade performance of your transmission.
