naka  display yung unit na yun sa glorietta ngayon. its a nice looking car, took a seat sa driver side, materials used were nice and plush. weird lang yung feeling ng shifter and hindi nagsslide and center console kaya parang ang layo niya sa shifter. and steering wheels is a different material  din i cant seem to tell if its leather or urethane na textured. if anyone knows what it is im curious to know hehe. 5.9secs pala ang 0-60 nito sweet

that's huge praise indeed!  :wav:

anyway, I think someone mentioned in this thread already that the Genesis' 2.0 Turbo engine is related to the Mitsubishi 4B11T of the Evo X.  ::)

They say the engine block is similar (Theta II for Genesis, 4B11T for the Evo X) however, the internals, head, etc... are all different.

This is a world engine co-developed by Chrysler, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi. That's why this engine is found in the Dodge Caliber SRT-4, Genesis coupe, and Lancer Evolution. They are all "variants" of the 4B11 engine
...and we 'drive' our cars on the 'parkway' and 'park' our cars on the 'driveway'...

This is a blog post from a respected US tuner regarding the 2.0 turbo engine on the genesis:

Im keeping an eye on this car. saw it in flesh last monday at alabang, the color (yellow) did'nt impress me but man, i love being inside, even the sound system is owesome! :notworthy:

if ever i'll get the 2.0, with the turbo ofcourse anything is possible as long as you have money to burn ( or boost). i heard the block of the 2.0 engine shares with Evo X' 4G11, which if true is a big wow!

the stock Turbo is good for city driving, instant power at low rpm. but look what i have found, with gt30r turbo, he made 357hp. Torque not that impressive though, but it's already neck breaking baby. i'll be more impressed if torque would hit 370-400ft.lbs....baon na baon! let's wait about the reliablity.

So which is better overall, the 2.0T or the 3.8  ?

How much will you need to spend on the 2.0T to match 3.8 performance?

And when it does, will ride still be comfortable and fuel efficient?

niky

Comfortable? In what way? Tuning the engine will not change the comfort level.

The 2.0T with the same suspension as the 3.8 is about 1.7m already... but if there are aftermarket parts out for the Genesis already, you can get a "base" 2.0 T within spitting distance of the 3.8's performance (we get the track spec 3.8, I believe) for a lot less than the cost of the 3.8. Power tuning should be easy. Chipping will give you about 30-40 more HP, upgrading the turbo another 50 more (don't know if the the engine can handle it, though), so it is probably possible within a budget.

The only thing is... I doubt the 2.0T can match the sound quality of the V6, no matter how you tune it.
