the 3.8m figure came from motioncars' carchart, after reading the top gear article, it seems the 1.4 to 1.8m price tag is more credible.  Btw, i read in C&D that the 2.0 turbo is actually from the lancer evo therefore highly tunable (dunno if its the 4g63t).

"One thing is certain: There will be lots of zoom parts available. The 1998cc four is the same basic engine as in the 291-hp Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, both engines being byproducts of the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance, a joint venture among Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Chrysler.

Similarities outweigh the differences, we're told, between the Evo's motor and Hyundai's all-aluminum Theta four with its twin-cam variable valve timing and Mitsubishi TD04H turbo making 15.0 psi. Core components such as pistons and rods should move freely between them, for example. Hyundai's engine uses a different computer, from Siemens. The software wasn't intentionally made easy to crack, "but it's not very tough," says one Hyundai exec with a wink. That means up to 300 horsepower should be possible without major surgery. "

The 1.8 million price is solid. Heard it from a friend who went to the launch.

The 2.0 turbo engine is based on the world-engine program. In other words, similar to a 4B11, and at least one tuner in the US says that the heads are the same. So basically, anything that works for the Evo X engine should work for the Coupe... :D

Around 1.3m, get the 2.0T. Buy an aftermarket clutch. Get a turbo upgrade and a chip, and you should have a 300+ hp RWD car at 1.5m :D

---

The 306 horsepower from the V6 is on premium gasoline... regular unleaded is about 295. 1.8 is a cheap price for that wonderful engine. It pulls like a horse and sounds pretty nice (though I think the Z still sounds better).

Wow, we could be looking at the performance bargain of the year!

Hmm I think whoever got the 3.8M price confused it with the engine displacement, since it's a 3.8 V6, haha

Antagal pa kasi nung Subaru/Toyota '86' Coupe and I'm sure it will cost more than this Hyundai.
...and we 'drive' our cars on the 'parkway' and 'park' our cars on the 'driveway'...

Evo X FQ-400 spec upgrades?   ...hmmm a 400hp Genesis Coupe?

The D-CVVT 3.8 liter V6 of the Genesis Coupe makes 303PS.

Why don't you test drive the car?  Parang gusto ko rin i-testdrive e haha.  I think HARI's prices are very reasonable...  but if I were you mag-2007 STI nalang ako

I went to Hyundai Global City yesterday and got a pricelist. The Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 is listed at 1.858M. this should put an end to all doubts! ;)

btw, it's current pricing puts it in contention with the Subaru WRX and the Mazda MX5.  ::)

oh, and one more thing. there's no mention of the 2.0 turbo though. I certainly hope they consider bringing it in! if the price is right, the Genesis 2.0T should sell like hotcakes!  :evil5:

stelvio

that's very reasonable pricing. if only they could get rid of that rear spoiler or make it optional.

In a world of compromise, some don't.
