i called mazda gh today cuz they didnt change the oil on the 1tkm pms. normal lang ba ito? ang pag kaalam ko they should change it kasi may mga ibang small metal particles na nahahasa during the first 1tkm break in.

pero kung full synthetic nilagay as stock ok na kahit hindi mag change oil sa 1tkm?

my friend's 07 civic nagpalit ng oil sa 1tkm. hmmm 4.7k daw gastos kng papalitan un oil or i could use the 10tkm coupon but then i have to pay for my 10tkm checkup next time na.
so should i wait for 10tkm to change it? or should i change now? kasi i read somewhere that the 1tkm oil change is one of the most important.  :dontknow:

Best to change your oil. New engines will normally have metal shavings, you don't want these running in your engine right? Just buy the oil filter from Mazda and bring your car to Autoplus since its pretty and get yourself some Motul oil for much less than that.

i don't think it is advisable to go synthetic oil during break-in. the cylinder and rings will not be properly 'settled in' to give a good seal.

This is a myth. Welcome to the 20th century sir. So you mean to say all the new cars with extended service recommendations have engines which have not properly settled since they come with synthetic oil as factory fill?

Engines have developed with the introduction of new technologies of engine oil. So filling your new engine with synthetic oil is much better than mineral oil. It gives better protection for your engine.

What did Mazda say when you called them up?

kyle

they said they normally dont change the oil at 1tkm pms since ok pa naman daw. They normally change it at 5tkm or 10tkm pa daw. check up lang daw talaga pag 1tkm.

anyway i checked the oil myself kanina and it looks clean naman... no metal excess. ill check it everyday and pag naging madumi na then ill have it changed na lang. ok na ba yun?

Oh i guess some car representatives should tell the truth that they are BLASTING the engines at full rpm while the car is still in the plant. Hard breaking that is. Kyle, don't worry mazda should know what they are doing. But of course, it's your car and you may choose to do the oil change.

...Some people get too hung up on hardware and technology and for

mr.blacktop

go change the oil, if you have the budget go for synthetic, 1st 1k km is the most critical PMS for your vehicle,

the service advisor at the Mazda Greenhills must know that  :protest:

speedyfix

honda doesn't change the oil din at 1k... baka di na kelangan with better manufacturing processes.

you won't see the metal particles naman even if you look at the oil... you'll see them in the magnetic drain plug or stuck in the filter.
