Do you guys have your sensors cleaned by the service center or do you DIY?

What do you use if you DIY?

The reason I ask is because I'm planning to buy this non liquid cleaning product called Dust-Aid. It has a mild adhesive where the dust sticks to it.

I'll post nalang reviews after I buy it and use it tomorrow coz its cheaper than having the camera cleaned at Columbia for 2500 each.

Neoshaft

my cam needs cleaning too.. but haven't done this yet.

there are 2 types of cleaning.. meron dry and wet.

1 kind of wet cleaning:

may nabibili na sensor swab (expensive ito). there are 3 sizes.. so ask the store what size is to be used for your cam. 12pcs ata per box tapos nasa 2k-3.5k.. forgot na exact price.

tapos you'll need an Eclipse Solution. Php700-950

put little solution sa swab tapos run the swab to your sensor in one direction (left to right) and in one motion only. tapos use the side B naman of the swab to wipe again, this time from right to the left. tapos discard na yung sensor swab. (tip: you can replace the tip using PEC PADS for future use.. cheaper alternative)

www.mymitsuph.com ... it's everything mitsu

yan ba yung parang may static charge? pag pinasok lahat ng dust didikit dyan? cleaning w/out sensor contact?

DIY ako,
ok yung solution na sinabi ni neoshaft, abt the swab; iba iba sizes nito bale pumapatak 250.oo per piece yung ginagamit ko  (if ur gonna compute the cost per cleaning session), pag bukas  ng lens facing down yung opening, use a blower muna to get rid of dust. -> dont blow directly at the sensor, sa gilid lang ng sensor

(kahit maingat at parating closed yan magkakadust paren - madaming moving and grinding small parts ang camera kaya magkaka dust paren)

then yun nga, in regards to neoshaft ...put little solution sa swab then run it to the sensor L-R then another side R-L. wag kayo matakot na diinan yung pag swab, the sensor is not that delicate, may matigas na protective coating yan. itapon na swab - never recylce it. :nono:

mas mura nga DIY kaso if your camera is worth 70k-100k...let the professionals do it nalang I think its ok to spend 2.5K sensor cleaning for those babies, yung dslr ko entry level kaya malakas loob ko mag DIY.

Masakit din sa bulsa ang 2500 per cleaning. Its not a difficult process to do naman kasi.

The Sensor Aid is adhesive type. It uses a double-sided adhesive, with the mild adhesive side going to the sensor. Its not too thorough, maybe it takes a while to get used to.
