Is this ok: connect Aux RCA Output to Rear RCA Input of same Amp?

Hi,

You are probably thinking why the hell do I want to connect the output of my amp to it's own input? I don't really know... this is just what the installers did to my setup.

Here's the thing: My HU has only 1 pre-out. My amp has a front and rear inputs, and an output.
The first time it was setup, the HU output was split (probably - not sure) to go to my amp's front and rear inputs. When my car is running, I hear static when I step and depress my brakes! Didn't like it (who does?!) so went back, and tried many things and then they were able to remove the static sound by removing the connected rear input RCA cable and then using a short RCA cable, connected the Aux RCA output of my amp to it's own rear input! Is that alright?? The static sound went away but the subwoofer got amplified big time! At first I thought this was cool as the bass was so loud! Yeah!

After some thinking and re-thinking, I wondered if it was a bad idea. Would it get amplified infinitely because of the loop? Can the amplifier and subwoofer handle this type of setup? If yes, how? How do I know if this is a ticking amp bomb?

If this is not good, what's the recommended alternative (aside from getting a new HU with at least 2 pre-outs)?

Salamat po! Hope you can help me :-)

NP.

that'd be fine i guess. natry ko na din ganyan kasi i ran out of y-connectors while setting up my wires hehe so i found that alternative possible. kasi i think what ever you signal you feed the amp from your HU, yun din ang ilalabas nya sa aux out nya, then parang binalik mo lang dun sa rear input nung amp :)

i guess nagkastatic lang yun due to wires used, specifically yung Y-connector na ginamit or placing ng wires possibly :)

static is really caused by many factors, poor grounding , poor connection of wires, weak audio signal, even moisture in your electrical wires causes static.. the best way to avoid them is right from the beginning everything has to be connected or installed diligently i have nothing against connecting an rca from your amps output an input of the same amp they will work normally those outputs were designed to cater another amp, however its just like using those Y-connectors, it does not make a difference.
