hi guys,

saw the site of the new race track this afternoon being built in clark, several questions come to mind:

when it will be operational?
what is the layout of the track?
will this track be up to international standards so we could taste some international action?
what type of races can it accomodate?
will this be open to amateurs?for track days? RWYB?

in any account, this is good news for us racing fans and petrolheads!

lomo13: i dont know about your other questions, but as far as international events, the Asian formula 3 has legs at BRC. if you're thinking F1 or A1, that's gonna be really expensive to build...

Having an F1 event here is nearly impossible. One who would want to spend that much money just to build a track that is upto FIA standars? Motorsports here isn't has profitable compared to other countries, and you can't trust the government to build the track since with all the corruption it will end up sub standard anyway.

Is it going to be a racing circuit or just a drag racing venue?

does anyone have a picture of the planned layout?
Never settle for 2nd......

I know its supposed to be a race track talaga nauna lang yung drag strip, in fact Kilton Corp had abmitions of hosting A1 races there (and fielding a Philippine team) but again I said ambitions hehe... but I'm hoping maging totoo cause it would be nice to be represented sa A1.

Although now I heard its going to be shorter than BRC and its going to be mainly used for karting events.

Ah ok, this is much better than Miss Earth!  haha

Judging from the layout, it's counterclockwise!  Wow, just like SIR.  BRC is clockwise.  Clockwise tracks favor RHD cars and vice-versa.

Looks like the main staright is about as long as BRC but judging from the very slow corner leading onto it, it will have lower speeds.  So this is a tight track, again favoring the FWD's over the Porsches and other supercars.  Evo's and Sti's should do pretty well here also.  I see Civics dominating this track again.  Supercar owners will be scared to run this track again with all the walls although there are adequate run-off areas.  Hehe.  My hope is that the run-off areas will not be dirt or gravel but be paved and flat or a little banked.  That makes it lots safer to stop or slow down.

About 11 corners, most of whom are tight.  What I like are the S-turns they added, which BRC lacks...that's good the organizers put that in this new layout.  So it's really a diffrent track in most respects to BRC.  Reminds me more of a bigger Carmona track.  Lap times should be between SIR and BRC...figure around 1:45 for touring cars.

The drag boys, especially the ones hitting 10 seconds or quicker, will be happy as this has a little longer runoff than BRC.

actually I also forsee toasted brakes on the back straight.  thats one tight corner following a semi-long straight!  atleast the 1st corner comes into a sweeping corner.  Interesting!

wow, when did it star the construction? can't wait and see how this looks like...
