for hondas dex III normally works but it's not the best thing. look for an atf z1 rated atf for best results.

for the boxtype ok na siguro yung dex III for it

sir migs, i just had my atf changed with Honda ATF Z1. I bought it at the casa and had it refilled at a gas station service lube. After getting it 2nd hand last Nov 2007, I changed its ATF with CONOCOPHILLIPS Super ATF  last Sept 2008, almost a year after.

Today, March 21, 2009 I changed my ATF with Honda Genuine ATF Z1 after 6 mos. and 11T km -run. Considering my car's age (14 years) and mileage (140T), how often should I change my ATF? I'm planning to keep its ATF with Honda ATF Z1.

every 20k kms should be allright of an interval if you want to keep it in good shape.

ah ok, thanks! I'm planning to do a 10T km or 6 mos interval for two or three times from now so that i can replace the old atfs more quickly. Do you think by that time the old atf in the torque converter will be replaced already by the honda ATF? Am starting to feel a little improvement and smoothness in my shifting.

if you want to get it all in one go just use a transtech machine. it's available in speedyfix.

transtech costs a lot yata kac i'll be using 10 liters of atf for that? want to try muna frequent drain/refill procedure. how many drain/ refill will it take to completely change the atf 100% even in the torque converter?

frequent drain refills will use the same amount of fluid as a transtech process and it takes longer pa.

i.e. normal atf capacity is 6 liters
-1st drain gets 3 liters so 50% new 50% old fluid
-2nd drain another 3 liters so around 75% new fluid
-3rd drain another 3 liter and maybe not 100% new fluid pa.

at least 3-4 drain fefills to get fluid to good as new.

did you try smelling the ATF? did it smell burned or like varnish or burned varnish? chances are, the tranny is fried. I hope the car didnt have a history of overheating.

Cars with automatic trannies that have overheated not only fry the cylinder head but the automatic tranny as well because the auto tranny's cooling is tied together with the radiator. So, if your shopping for a used car that has an auto tranny, at that, keep this in mind.

Also, on automatic trannies with high mileage and have never been serviced or the atf replaced, if you replace it, theres a chance that the tranny is gonna start slipping with the fresh atf. Sometimes, its more prudent not to replace the old atf at all....i know, its kinda messed up....... :dontknow:

Wow, this will surely keep me awake tonight...

I just had my ATF changed last year at Speedyfix and I am recently feeling some kind of slippage especially when I am in the middle of a turn. ATF color and level is normal naman. Sandaling slippage lang as in the engine will rev as if you stepped on the clutch during a turn.

Any idears?

speedyfix

sometimes it's not only the atf at fault... clutch packs, solenoids, etc can come into play and cause the slipping sensation too. it's harder to determine if that's the true problem though.
