have anybody tried this already?

i'm planning to shift to this whiz motor oil for diesel for my 2 4ja1. its already a semi synthetic oil with ci4 spec with a 15w-50 viscosity. i'm using shell helix plus diesel 10w-40 with cf spec for about 2 years now and very satisfied naman ako. but this whiz oil is cheaper php240/ltr while the shell oil is php316/ltr. the whiz oil has the better spec because it already has a ci4 spec while the shell oil is cf only.

every 3000km nga pala ako mag-change oil so i will save more with this whiz oil.

what do you think guys? should i go for it?

But the Whiz oil is also heavier being a W50 than the W40. In the long run it will be more expensive due to increased fuel consumption.

i've been using the whiz motor oil for 2 days now and very much the same lang sila ng performance ng shell helix plus diesel. mas madulas lang ng konting konti yung shell. sa shell it gives me 13.29km/l(average) on my fuel consumption. dati 12km/l(average) nung delo gold multifrage ang gamit ko. ngayon will check it with a full tank of diesel for a week kung ilan difference sa fuel consumption. will post later :)

Get your facts right.  Whiz is more than 100 years old. At the present time, Whiz is a division of Malco Products, Inc. with its Headquarters in Barberton, Ohio. Whiz oils are manufactured in their factories in Alliance and Akron, Ohio, U.S.A., not China.

I have never seen a car manufacturer recommend putting 3rd party additives on the oil.
IMO, the engineers have tested various weights of oil an that is why they are indicated on the car manual for the owner to follow.

I have never used additives on any of my cars.

this is an engine oil not an additive

just an update, bumalik ako sa shell helix diesel plus 10w-40. 3 times ko ginamit yung whiz at medyo di ako satisfied. at 3000km kasi medyo magaspang na yung makina unlike yung shell kahit 4000km na madulas pa rin pakiramdam ng makina. kaya every 4000km na ako mag-change oil.

btw nakahanap ako ng gas station na php258 lang ang per liter nila ng helix diesel plus kaya bumalik ako kasi konti na lang ang difference(whiz php240/liter) at mas matagal pa buhay nung shell. yung dati ko kasing pinagkukunan php321 na ang per liter which has a big difference.

haven't had any problems with whiz mineral oil so far. it's mineral oil though so don't expect too much in terms of performance.
