2004? dba frontier lng un hndi pa navara?

actually, the reason why i chose strada is because we had a 2nd gen. strada and we are very impressed with its performance.

Sir, why not the Strada 3.2 GLS Sport 4x4?

Sir, why not the Strada 3.2 GLS Sport 4x4?

2 reasons:
1. price
2. maintenance costs (a bigger engine means bigger maintenance bills! ;))

When youre looking for this better get the Navara.

1. Best Horsepower and Torque ( hauling )
2. 8 Cross member frame ( durability )
3. Largest Cargo Bed in its class.

that said, I think this pick-up gets my vote. Hindi puro "Pa pogi lang"

Pretty late reply to this, but...

While the Navarra's 2.5 is impressive on paper, in the real world, the 2.5 has a very narrow and peaky powerband, and doesn't have the flexibility and power of the best 3.0s in the class, the Toyota 3.0 D4D and the Ford 3.0 TDCi, which have better off-idle response and a wider powerband.

That said, the Navara does have a large bed, a good ride, good handling (second only to the Ranger for me... but with better tires than the Ford and a more stable demeanor) and a large interior. The Strada, though, is more car-like and a better "lifestyle" pick-up.

Thanks DTNS. Otherwise no other issues with the 3.2?

Sir, been reading your reviews and I find  them pretty useful. Between the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, both 3.0, which is better in the ff (I am placing % for my priorities):
1. real world off-idle response with maybe half a ton of cargo - 30%
2. cabin space and ride comfort - 25%
3. maneuverability - 30%
3. maintenance cost (is toyota the obvious answer here?) - 15%

Similar. The Ford feels like it has a bit more.

2. cabin space and ride comfort - 25%

Both ride like crap, but the Hilux has a better rear seat.

3. maneuverability - 30%

Both very good.

3. maintenance cost (is toyota the obvious answer here?) - 15%

All common-rail diesels are more expensive to maintain than old-school diesels... no real advantages either way here...

Thanks Niky! If you are in the market for a pick up truck, which would you get given the same criteria above? Throw in both the Nissan Navara 4x4 and the Strada 3.2 too? Just want to get your opinion.

I'm hopelessly biased. I'm in love with the Ranger 3.0 4x4.

But if you're looking for something really comfortable with good cargo ability, then the Navara is a good choice. Great backseat and huge bed. Not quite sure about long term durability, but the only complaints I've heard (and experienced) so far are regarding the clunk when the aircon clutch engages.

Are you referring to the new face-lifted Ranger or the pre-face lifted model?  I really like the butch appearance of the pre-face lift model especially without any step boards.

I also like the Navara but is it true that its HP and torque figures look impressive on paper but in real world applications, the pick up with the bigger displacement performs better?

Either. Yeah, I like the square jaw of the old one better, but the new one has that kind of Land-Rover-ish look, certainly more attractive than the new Eve.

The Navara is like the Honda SiR of pickups. In a straight up drag race or on the highway, the high specific output gives you a lot of zing, but you need to row gears constantly to stay in the power. It's a lot more powerful, mind you, than the 2.5 liters of the competition, but it lacks a bit of that effortless grunt the 3.0s of Toyota and Ford give you (personally, I feel the Mitsubishi 3.2 is kind of soft... but I haven't driven it back to back with the competition).
