hello. i am planning to buy an old car. 1974 to be exact. problem is the owner does not have the papers.he misplaced it. the plate number is still there. and the car has no engine(junk). what can be a step on getting the papers? and how can i verify if it has no papers?

Go to LTO, bring 2 valid IDs (owner), affidavit of loss, etc and have the LTO reproduce the papers. He has to remember where he last registered it.

Not necessarily. Kung kanino naka pangalan legally.
I think it's legit enough.

Curious lang, what kind of car is this?

It was mentioned that the car has no engine... can you register the car without the engine number? Baka double hassle yan?   Can the car be bought as junk and register it as a fabricated vehicle? e.g. auv, jeepney, kit car?

ang plano sana pag ganyan get a copy of the lost or cr, tapos since pa pa change engine din chaka na i lakad yung change engine papers yun lang kailangan sana makipag cooperate yung previous registered owner or i transfer na agad pag kakuha ng copy ng or cr, lost plate pa pala
