When I used to have a 1993 Civic ESI the cause for rising temperatures was a faulty sending unit that turns on the fan/auxiliary fan.

we already checked the fans.. and its all running perfectly..

Are both fans running when it overheats?

tip_tipid

so there is no thermostat now in your car's cooling loop. perhaps you need to replace the water pump. if the car has been running without coolant for a vary long time, the water pump vanes disintegrates due to corrosion.

i have coolant on the radiator.. the mechanic told me that if still overheating maybe the head gasket is the problem.. what you think guys?

Saang banda lumalabas yung tubig?

is this glycol based, safe for aluminum alloy?

sir kumusta auto mo? i had a big headache when it comes to overheating so I've learned a lot of things when I was in your situation. open mo ang radiator cap, then rev the engine. pag lumabas ang tubig from the radiator, your cylinder head gasket is for replacement. advice pa sa akin ng mechanic ko not to use an engine coolant dahil tumitigas daw ito sa loob ng radiator, water will do.

If you don't use coolant your radiator will rust out and develop holes.

^ ganun ba yun? okay salamat sa advice sir!

Brent

Old school misinformed mechanic's advice is not to use coolant. You should use coolant and change it at proper intervals.

speedyfix

your sending unit to the gauge might be shorted also causing the gauge to read incorrectly and you to think you're overheating when you're not.
