Euro IV diesel from Unioil or Eastern Petroleum

Anyone tried filling up with Euro IV diesel from these two fuel companies? While I'm kind of skeptical, I would also want to give them the benefit of the doubt and try their "cleaner" fuel. Unioil stations are easier to find, but I did hear some negative things from their diesel fuel before.

Eastern Petroleum stations meanwhile are quite a challenge to find in Metro Manila. But they seem to be more reputable.

Contacted a friend from Seaoil and found out that they're back to Euro II diesels now.

Government only requires Euro II, which I really think should be upgraded to Euro IV. We all breath the same air, and we can definitely benefit from the phasing out of those jeepneys if they don't upgrade to modern powertrains. Enough of the "poor" argument, we are all victims of their dirty exhausts.

Went ahead to try Unioil Pure Diesel 50ppm this afternoon after the low fuel light came on. Hope it's as good as they say it is.

It's the same lang as normal diesel from the big three. 44.35 per liter to be exact.

They do own Seaoil, so info straight from the owner would be very much accurate. :)

Besides, only Unioil and Eastern label their diesel officially as Euro IV/50ppm.

So far the 50ppm Unioil diesel seems to make my engine run a bit smoother. But there was still some Petron Turbo Diesel left in the tank. The next tankful should be a purer.

Hi Sir Brent, I just would like to ask, how did the Euro IV diesel from UNIOIL affect the performance of your ride?  I actually would like to try this out as well but I was also somewhat skeptical in trying it.  Any feedback would surely help a lot.  Thanks.

Brent

Power feels about the same. But the engine seems to run smoother. Engine oil is cleaner because of less sulfur.

Thanks for the info, I'll try this one out on my next gas-up.  cheers!

Unioil recently relabled their CleanDiesel to Euro Diesel IV, and I was also able to obtain more technical info. They claim that their fuel has a Cetane Rating of 55. Normal Euro II requires only a maximum of 50.

Is it ok to put Euro IV diesel in the 2012 Fortuner?

Yes very much. CRDi equipped engines benefit a lot from cleaner diesel fuel.

Wow!  this is great news!  Euro 4 diesel!  the perfect match for CRDIs!  thanks a lot guys for all your tips!!  now i can plan on buying CRDIs!

Butch12874

Mr. Brent, can the Euro 4 diesel be used on the Direct Injection diesel engines of Isuzu Crosswind and my C190 old diesel engine and also Isuzu Elf engines?  I think i read before that the Euro 2 high sulfur diesel aids in cooling of the valves of Direct Injection diesel engines.  Will our old diesel engines not overheat or cause something if we use Euro 4 diesel?  And can we safely use Euro 4 on our diesel-powered generators?  And also our agricultural engines?  Thanks!

Brent

Unioil claims that their fuel is backward compatible so I guess you can use it in your Crosswind and Elf. As for the old diesel powered generators and agricultural engines, maybe you have to ask them about that. I think industrial engines work differently.
