there is a 205/55-15 tire size available and chances are it will fit your current set of wheels. but if you say your car is underpowered, using wider tires would  aggrivate the situation since wider tires means more rolling resistance.

luwe

yung roll nga yung gusto kong tanggalin... ford lynx yung kotse.  nasabi kong underpowered kasi yung suspension niya kayang kaya kahit mas malakas pa yung makina

can you give your definition of what roll is? the roll resistance i'm pertaining to is the force needed to make the tire rotate. if your thinking of roll in terms of body roll in a corner, a wider tire doesn't really cure it. tweeking your suspension is the answer. using stiffer springs (lower) and matching dampers reduces the amount body roll the car during cornering. another part that you can upgrade or add is an anti-roll bar (also known as stabilizer bar).

i don't think wider tires would help much with the body roll of a vehicle but it will improve traction.

luwe

dude get bigger diameter rims ('usual' 15-inchers are 6.5" across) and fit 195/55/15 tires on them. this is what some people from Yoko told me. :)

i'm using 205/45/r16 swak sya sa EK ko.

if there are any wheels that come out in 205/55/r15 or even 205/50/r15 could you guys point out any models you know of?

Im currently using 205/55/R15s Potenza G3. No problem whatsoever. i think mas comfortable ng konti yuun ride compared to 195/55/15s. Usually kasi kapag 15's, 195/55/15s are used more often. Aside from that, it's a bit expensive also...cost around 3K each. Acutally, you won't notice the difference in the size compared to 195/55 - 205/55 (additional 10mm) not unless you like  staring at your tires palagi;D

R600

maybe you'll notice it during high speed cornering...then again, the difference is rather small...

luwe

Ouch!  500 pesos difference per tire!  2,500 bili ko sa GIIIs ko e.  Hmm siguro nga 195/55 na lang talaga ako.

NB,
i think the reason why the car rides better on 205s than on 195s is perhaps because the former has slightly more sidewall height.

luwe,
