ey guys, what do u suggest na setup ko for my crosswind? so far lahat nya stock....pioneer deh6250(ata?) na hu, pioneer seps and rearfills. i hav a 15inch woofer but its not installed kasi sayang ung cargo space e. im thinking of putting an 8 inch subs in a bandpass enclosure para nde rin mashado malki pero sakto pa rin ung bass and add an amp for me seps and rearfills na lang. so lalabas, stock speakers and hu dat i wud amplify and add a smaller woofer in a good box na lang. what do u guys think? i dont have any budget yet but with ur suggestions and inputs, saka ko maffinalize ung cash out. ;D thanx in advance!! ;D

chicco,

Pwede mo pa rin ilagay yung 15inch woofer mo pero mawawalan ka ng upuan sa pinaka-likod ng crosswind mo pero minimum lang yung box mo para magka-roon ka ng cargo space.

chicco

ya nga e, actually sukat ung woofer na un sa xwind e, m thinking lang of other alternative para nde naman masayang ung space diba. nwy, do u sugest i buy a 4ch amp to poewr my subs (ch3 and 4) and ch1 and 2 for my seps upfront?

pwede rin, basta huwag lang magkulang sa kuryente yung subs at seps mo.

AS for me i would go for a seperate amp for the sub.. kc medyo magaagawan ng power yan eh. may friend's setup before was a rf 800.4 2ch used to power the seps and 2ch for the 2 compvr's and the rearfills powered by the hu.
Medyo bitin yun subs para bang you get the feeling na naghihilaan cla ng power... and when he bought another amp then there was this big improvement... but of course try mo muna when you like what you hear from the 4ch amp, then its all right with you to use a 4ch amp.

your preference is still your basis...

Hope this helps.

God Bless!!!!

chicco,

we're on the same boat, i also owned an xuv and wanted to upgrade the sound set-up. as per reading the other threads here, i planned to get a JBL GTO 6.5 seps, a Fenton 41000 amp and a sub. for the sub, i have not finalized yet what to install as i am also very concerned of the space it will take if i have to put a box at the rear. i am thinking of installing a tube sub but haven't got any idea of the brands, size or the price either. if ever u have your set-up done, kindly post some feedback on what subs did u use and how good are they. also, how good are the stock seps being driven by ur amp.

Pahabol. Sulat. do u know what is the size of the stock seps? do u think the JBL GTO 6.5 incher will fit exactly?

regards,

weng

Hi Chicco!

What you can do is to install a connector (push pin or screw in type) on our sub box. The connector is something like the speaker terminals of home mini components, yung may spring, tapos may negative and positive terminals. This way, you can use your 15-inch sub, and remove it in case you need your cargo space badly, medyo hassle lang nga. And when you remove your sub, make sure insulated yung exposed wires from the amp.

So your connection would be is that the sub is not directly connected to the amp. From the sub, may wires connecting it to the connectors, then the connectors are the ones connected to the amp.

I'll try to post a picture. Ganito ginawa sa car ko.

thanx guys for the posts... ;D

jao,
ya iv thot of that na rin, kaya lang hassle tlga ung ganun e, sobraq laki din kasi nung subs ko e.

jef and juergen,
m planing to use f41000, iv used it before na with almost the same setup and ok naman sha, bka mabitin lang kasi ung batt and alternator ko kung sakali 2 amps kabit ko, yaw ko naman magpalit nung mga components na un in the future.

weng,
i think kasya naman ung 6.5 sa doors to replace the stock seps. as for me, ung stock na pioneers are sounding ok na even without the amp, so most probably mas gaganda p sha with an extenal amp diba...
as for the subs naman, i dont suggest magtube ka kasi for me, sobrang bitin e. ang liit lang nung range nya, u cant make it go boomboom and pag low volumes parang ala ka na ring marinig. i wud stilkl sugest a woofer with a fabricated enclosure for its specs and urs as well, if u know what i mean ;)

anyway guys, im really satisfied with mysubs naman talaga, its just too bulky for my ride, i nid one that's small and yet produce relatively very good bass. what can u suggest. with my seps and rearfills, ill kip it stock and add an amp na lang for the seps.

thanx for the posts, its really widening my views, hope u guys cud suggest more alternatives. ;D

yeah, the S8L5 would be alot of boom in such a small package.  you could also try an S10L5.  both in sealed boxes for saving space.  tapos, since it'll all be in a single cabin, the bass won't be muffled by trunk.

hmmm... now, just watch your battery and alternator while you boom, you might need a cap in case you boom a lot.

weng

guys,

magkano ba Kicker S8L5 and S10L5 ngayon?

salamat :)

IMm29

for reference, a few months back, the S10L5 cost P7,000.  so the S8L5 should've been around P6,000.

chicco:  for my case i use 12w6v2 subs.   the box fitted right between the 2 jumper seats.  took space for about 2 persons.

a friend of mine used an 8" rockford sub. tamang tama yung box on the space between the second row seat and the jumper seats.  medyo pahaba lang nga yung box.  sound quality wise medyo bitin lang nga.

weng

gm,

how did u secure your sub box in order to prevent it from moving? ano bang magandang paraan instead of bolting it to the floor?

salamat... ;)
