is it possible to drop a k20 type r engine on the civic vtec3?does anyone know how much?thanks!

a CRV would be a more feasible donor for that swap.

i believe they have done it in the states already, but rumor has it na dami problems, and up to now, di pa daw fully operational yung civic.

di gaya pag crv bolt on affair lang. autoplus has done it.

It is possible, but you have to change a lot of things including the entire cross member, axels, etc. etc. Most of the parts you need to change are gonna be extremely hard to find, and expensive as well. So in the end it might not be entirely worthwhile to do the swap. A friend was planning to do it, we calculated the costs and it amounted to more than 500K including the engine already.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

Sayang.

Is the parts required for the swap brand new or second hand?

BNEW lahat since wala pa halos surplus / 2nd hand parts for that car / engine.

thanks a lot for the posts.

now that i know how much it will cost, forget it!

one question lang,is this audi A4 1.8T 97 mdel worth it with the following specs:

32Kms, racing suspension,k04 turbo upgrade,racing chips,upgrade intake and downpipe,bypass valve(i think what he ment was blowoff valve),VDO boost guage,turbo timer and 17in rs4 mags. 970K

havn't seen the actual unit...

another stumbling block is the key

here's a quote from sports compact car regarding the swap they made
"Honda uses a very tricky anti-theft system on most of its models. Every key has a chip in the key fob. When the key is poked into the ignition, the ECU looks code on that chip and if it matches the one programmed into the ECU, the ECU allows the engine to start.
Otherwise, the engine will crank but not start."

you might want to check out the CRV of raymond go sa autoplus, it has a bolt on k20a type r. wala pa atang
available na bolt on exhaust so si freddy na ang gumawa ng pipes.

dude if i wer u kunun k na lng b16a tpos turbocharged it.kilalamo b c myles bautista 600hp civic nya 400 naman un torque nya!up to 10,500 rpm sya.wel may pera ka naman!b18c marami gumagamit pero sakin sbi ng pinsan k mas okun b16a kng adik k sa pataasan ng rpm kc short stroke daw ang b16a kaysa sa b18c.

posible gawin kpag may pera ka!

turbo
rebore
kargahan internals
tpos lightening
ecu syempre
motec ang d best

due if u wnt may pera k naman sohc k na lng
set up mo like un kay bisi na champion of all motor!
d15b or f22 just get d nonvtec
carbs kargahan internals like rebore tpos port n polish
well tungkol sa f22 ok tlga to kso d k lam kng meron may lam d2 sa pinas na magdestroke meaning iiklian un stroke nito para makuha ang high rpm nito!gets mo b?

kya ako fun ako ng sohc!khit na may 4g63t me dito sa bhay mas gus2 k pa rin ang sohc.kc pag tinalo mo un karace mo sasabihin dohc k kce,o kya naman mas mataas dispplacement mo e d worst pa is nka turbo sya ako hindi!ganon ang cnasbi lage!so ako bka sohc na lng ako benta k na un lancer k na singkit 4g63t 16g.kuha na lng me ng hatch tpos salpakan ko ng d15b and carbs set up ako!f22 sana kso la me kilala na magaling mag destroke!smallest displacement to run in 10secs and 11secs,ayos to!hehehehe!may history naman na e ang nakagawa nito so posible sya!kuha k engine na mura gastusan k internals nito!

CtLim

if I were you, just go for a b16eg and tune it up properly, making sure that none of the internals are broken. get a good oil change, timing belts, gear oil, plugs and add some bolt on's.

start from here, there are so many things you can do with a b16a. or course, turbocharging is a shortcut, but nothing is more satisfying than bringing an all motor, naturally aspirated engine to its limits.

here are some good parts to get for a b16a,
toda, spoon camgears
type r cams, camshafts
type r pistons
iceman sri
mugen headers, tanabe exhaust
a spoon box with a vafc (kahit stock box ok lang)
or a hondata, greddy e-manage, or power-fc (the motec
works better kasi on an evo)
Victor X Manifold
and alot more.... even before thinking about a turbo.

i know what you all guys mean.a lot of people have already done those stuff that you've said and those are very good ways on making a fast car.

the only reason why i asked about the a4 is because it was just offered to me.for now,im still thinking of creating a whole new point of view and approach in modifying cars, mainly our trusty honda's!

i'm basically trying to formulate a way to set up a car with my own four basis of modification, that's: feel, performance, looks and reliability.i don't want to strech out on this topic.but what im getting here is that i want to apply it on the new ES civic VTEC3.those suggestions from the SOHC to the legendary B16 are well appreciated but i don't think it's all about racing and being the fastest.(just my opinion)

well i think im way off the topic here.thanks for the replies

the crv with the type r k20 belongs to gono(carlos) the bros. of raymond. freddie ba gumawa ng pipe? i thought autoplus made it themselves? confirm na lang pls. i want to know also. thanx.

CtLim

talked to freddie the other day and he confirmed that he was the one who did the pipes. raymond ata or cisco actually supervised the install.

by the way, as per freemuff, they will have a mandrel machine this month so watch out for it.

Benj

I believe it originally had a 5zigen full kit exhaust system, but they wanted to increase the pipe diameter so they turned to freddie to redo the exhaust system.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

chasin_dreams

who's freddy?looks like he's pretty reputable with making good exhaust pipes...
