2015 Suzuki Celerio enters local micro-car segment

Suzuki Philippines has launched the 2015 Celerio at the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Speaking during the launch, Suzuki PH President Hiroshi Suzuki said they are confident that the 2015 Celerio will set a new benchmark in its class.

“You will all be amazed with the architecture of this model, particularly its best-in-class luggage capacity, superb ease and comfort in driving, and outstanding fuel efficiency. We are confident that this all-new Suzuki Celerio will set a new standard for its kind,” said Suzuki.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2015 Celerio is 100mm longer and 70mm taller. In addition, the wheelbase of the vehicle is 65mm longer. With this, the 2015 Celerio now measures 3600mm long, 1600mm wide and 1540mm tall with a wheelbase of 2425mm.

In terms of the design, the 2015 Celerio is fitted with sharper-looking headlights, a restyled grill, a redesigned bumper and new fog lamp housing. Turning at the side, the Celerio is characterized by sharp lines.

The rear of the 2015 Celerio has larger taillights, a revamped bumper, a roof-mounted lip spoiler and a third brake light. It is finished off with 14-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2015 Celerio has a black interior theme along with silver trims. Suzuki claims that the vehicle features a spacious legroom and higher headroom as compared to the previous model. It also has a 60:40 seat configuration and 254 liters of luggage capacity.

Furthermore, the 2015 Celerio comes with safety and security features such as the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), dual airbags, side impact beams and Suzuki's patented Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) design which integrates a lightweight impact-absorbing body using high-tensile steel.

2015 Suzuki Celerio's KB10 1.0-liter engine

Under the hood, the 2015 Celerio is equipped with a K10B 1.0-liter engine that delivers 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. It is mated either to a 5-speed manual or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

A thing of note, the Philippine market will get the Thai-spec 2015 Celerio to support the ASEAN Economic Community, which aims to integrate Southeast Asia’s free movement of goods.

The 2015 Celerio is available in eight colors: Snow White Pearl, Star Silver Mettalic, Mineral Gray Mettalic, Super Black Pearl, Ablaze Red Pearl, Cerulean Blue, Sunshine Yellow and Raspberry Pink.
