2019 Toyota RAV4 launched in South East Asia
All-new Toyota RAV4 debuts in Singapore with rest of ASEAN to follow suit soon.

It's been almost a year since it was revealed but it's now in the region. Toyota has unveiled the all-new RAV4 in ASEAN with Singapore being the regional launchpad. With that, the rest of the Southeast Asian markets shouldn't have to wait too long until it arrives in their respective countries.

Visually similar to the Japan-spec model, the 2019 RAV4 presents a totally new and revolutionary redesign over the soon to be outgoing model. With its aggressive front end featuring creases, lines, and sharp headlights, it echoes design cues from larger Toyota SUVs, particularly the 4 Runner.
Interior is also largely similar to the models for Japan, US, and Europe. That means it gets the same floating touchscreen, complemented by geometric shapes on the dashboard. For the Singapore market at least, it comes with cabin illumination, wireless smartphone charging, seven airbags, Toyota Safety Sense. Toyota Safety Sense includes lane departure warning, radar cruise control, auto high beam headlights, pre-collision warning and automatic emergency braking.

As for engines, there's only one but that applies for Singapore. It gets a new, more powerful 2.0-liter engine, along with a new transmission. The engine now makes 170 PS and 203 Nm of torque, which is then paired to a continuously variable transmission. Fuel economy is rated at 16.7 kilometers per liter, according to the company.
For now, it is yet to be known when the all-new RAV4 will arrive in the Philippines. But one thing is for certain, Toyota's ASEAN operations will be very busy this year.
