2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid revealed for PHP 2.335M
Toyota PH expands hybrid sedan lineup with the Camry

Earlier this year, the 2022 Toyota Camry made its ASEAN debut. While the automaker dubbed it as a facelift, it’s hard to tell what exactly Toyota changed. That’s because instead of an extensive update, Toyota decided to give it a subtle refresh inside and out.
At the time, the Camry was first made available over in Thailand last November. But now it's made its way here as Toyota Motor Philippines officially launches the updated Camry today.

Starting with the exterior, the midsize sedan gets a slightly sportier front fascia. Both the grille and bumper get a larger opening and a blacked-out finish. It also gets a new chrome trim that runs the edge of the center intake. Last but not least, the Camry now rolls on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.
Like the exterior, Toyota only made minor changes inside the 2022 Camry. First up is the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB. There’s also new leather upholstery that provides a more premium look and feel.

But perhaps the most important upgrade is the new digital control panel on the rear center armrest. This allows rear passengers to electronically adjust the rear seats, control the automatic climate control, and even set the doors to automatically open.

Other key features present inside the updated Camry include tri-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, wireless phone charging, butterfly headrests, power-adjustable front seats, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, and LED ambient lighting.
Under the hood, the 2022 Camry is now available with just one engine – a 2.5-liter inline-four paired with an electric motor. That's right, Toyota's midsize sedan is now only offered as a hybrid.

The engine alone makes a respectable 178 PS at 5700 rpm and 221 Nm of torque at 3600 – 5200 rpm. Meanwhile, the electric motor puts out 88 PS with 202 Nm of torque. Combined, the Camry Hybrid has a total system output of 211 PS.

Don’t expect to find an 8-speed automatic transmission in the Camry Hybrid. Instead, it has an E-CVT that drives the front wheels.
When it comes to safety, it has the usual features like anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, and a host of airbags.

But to give occupants better peace of mind, the 2022 Camry is also equipped with Toyota Safety Sense. This gives the midsize sedan intelligent safety systems that act as the vehicle's extra pair of eyes. These include a pre-collision system, front departure alert, lane departure assist, lane tracing assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam, and rear-cross traffic alert.

The 2022 Toyota Camry is now available with a suggested retail price of PHP 2,335,000. But for those that want it finished in White Pearl, that's an extra PHP 15,000 on top of the SRP - bumping the price up to PHP 2,350,000.
