2023 Audi RS3 Performance Edition unleashed with 407 PS

Only 300 units of the Audi RS3 Performance Edition will be produced

Audi may be heading toward an electric future, but that doesn't mean it has already abandoned the good ol' internal combustion engine. While the e-tron models will ultimately become the face of Audi in the age of electrification, the RS models will forever be associated with Audi's sporty pedigree.

Audi has unleashed its most capable RS3 yet, the 2023 RS3 Performance Edition. While it still comes with the powerful 2.5-liter TFSI five-cylinder that pushes out 399 PS, Audi was able to extract more horsepower by increasing the boost pressure to 1.6 bar (extra 0.1 bar) and modifying the RS sport exhaust system.

The result is an increased output of 407 PS at 5700 to 7000 rpm. Torque, meanwhile, remains the same at 500 Nm and is available between 2250 rpm to 5700 rpm. A 7-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission then sends power to all four wheels which allows the RS3 Performance Edition to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. As for its top speed, it can reach 300 km/h when fitted with the optional RS Plus Dynamic Package.

The high-performance vehicle gets new adaptive dampers that continuously adjust each shock absorber to the road conditions, driving situation, and drive mode selected. The pressure and rebound damping have also been increased compared to the previous generation RS3, meaning that the damper takes up more of the force that is passed from the chassis. The result is tighter handling and better on-road manners.

Complementing the quattro all-wheel drive system are grippy Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires that measure 265/35 at the front and 245/35 at the rear. These are then mounted onto 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels finished in matte dark gray which is exclusive only to the RS3 Performance Edition. Last but not least, Audi fitted the special edition RS3 with a black rear diffuser, black exterior badging, bucket seats upholstered in Dinamica microfiber with Nappa leather, and a special “1 of 300” badge on the dashboard.
