2025 BYD Sealion 5 PHEV is yours for PHP 1.248M
The BYD Sealion 6 is now joined by the (slightly) smaller Sealion 5

BYD Cars Philippines distributor ACMobility wants to make electrified mobility available to more customers at affordable prices. After launching the eMAX 7 at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show, BYD Cars Philippines has officially launched the Sealion 5 PHEV DM-i.
It slots below the much bigger Sealion 6 and serves as the brand's newest (and most affordable) electrified crossover that's powered by the brand's DM-i system.

Its powertrain system consists of a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that serves as a high-efficiency generator that recharges a 12.96 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack. On a full charge, BYD claims the Sealion 5 can travel up to 71 km based on the NEDC cycle on battery power alone. But thanks to the 1.5L engine, the crossover is rated to have a total system range of over 1,000 km.

Motivating the Sealion 5 comes in the form of a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. It makes 197 PS and 300 Nm of torque. From a standstill, the Sealion 5 can hit 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. It also comes with three drive modes: Economy, Normal, and Sport.

The Sealion 5 supports Type 2 AC charging and has a maximum charge rate of 7kW. The battery can be recharged from 15% to 100% in around 4.5 hours. Moreover, the BYD Sealion 5 comes with a portable charging cable, a wall-mounted charger (3.5 kW), and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.

Size-wise, the Sealion 5 measures 4738mm long, 1860mm wide, and 1710mm tall. It also has a wheelbase of 2712mm and a ground clearance of 156mm. In terms of design, the Sealion 5 features a wagon-like design thanks to its unique look and profile. It also comes with eye-catching LED headlights, a bold front grille, sleek bumpers, black body cladding, 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/60 tires, and rear foglights.

Open the doors, and the Sealion 5 welcomes occupants into a minimalist yet stylish cabin. Like all BYDs today, the Sealion 5 comes with a 10.1-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment display that supports Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

It's also equipped with an intelligent voice assistant, a six-speaker sound system, smart keyless entry, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, push-button start, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and rear aircon vents.

For extra peace of mind besides having six airbags, the Sealion 5 is also equipped with a traction control system, electronic stability control, hill-hold control (AKA hill-start assist), a tire pressure monitoring system, and an anti-rollover control system. For additional visibility, it gets a reverse camera and four rear parking sensors.

Available colors for the 2025 BYD Sealion 5 PHEV DM-i include Aurora White, Cosmos Black, Deep Sea Blue, and Harbor Gray. The cabin, meanwhile, is finished in Beige & Brown.
The Sealion 5 is yours for PHP 1.248 million but BYD Cars PH is offering a special introductory cash price of PHP 1.198 million.
