Aston Martin goes full Top Gun with V12 Speedster Maverick
Aston Martin pays tribute to iconic movie franchise with special V12 Speedster

“Tower, this is Bond, requesting fly-by”.
Aston Martin came up with the F/A-18 Super Hornet-inspired V12 Speedster two years ago. But now, the British manufacturer's Q division has gone full ballistic with the V12 Speedster Top Gun: Maverick Specification.

That's right. Aston Martin gave a special nod to the return of the iconic franchise. The V12 Speedster is finished in Skyfall Silver, with bold blue accents complementing the special Top Gun livery. In fact, Maverick's helmet design was painted inside the buttresses that mimic a jet fighter canopy. There's even a decal on the driver's door that says Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.

Like the standard V12 Speedster, the Top Gun: Maverick Specification supercar has the 5.2-liter twin-turbo unit that makes 700 PS and 753 Nm of torque, and is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. According to Aston Martin, the V12 Speedster could accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. While it won't reach supersonic speeds, the open-top supercar still has an impressive top speed of 300 km/h.

Only 88 units of the standard V12 Speedster were made, and there's no word yet on how many of this special edition model will be produced, as well as its sticker price. But we reckon, it's going to cost more than USD 950,000 (PHP 53-million).
