CAMPI welcomes Hyundai, Chery, and Geely for 2022 PIMS
The 13-member group is gearing up for the 8th edition of the Philippine International Motor Show

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) has expanded by adding three new members to its lineup of auto manufacturers and distributors: Chery, Foton, Geely, and Hyundai.
This marks the single biggest expansion of CAMPI in recent memory, as the organization now has 8 out of the top 10 brands in the Philippine market based on 2021's cumulative sales; the other two that are independent of CAMPI are Ford and MG.
Perhaps the most significant addition is Hyundai. Historically, the Hyundai brand has been under HARI which is a founding member of the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors or AVID. But the new distributor, Hyundai Motor Philippines, has decided to join CAMPI upon establishing their operations this year.
Chery's membership in CAMPI means that the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) now has both Foton and Chery reporting sales numbers to one group. Foton has an 11-hectare assembly facility in Clark Freeport Zone. It now serves as the brand’s source of locally-assembled passenger and commercial vehicles.
Geely is one of the fastest-rising brands under CAMPI. It reached its 10,000 sales milestone in under three years and posted 83% growth year on year, which surpasses the total industry growth of just 15%. It currently ranks 8th in total industry sales and has a 2.8% market share.
The addition of the new members also means that the the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) happening from September 15 to 18, 2022 (Thursday to Sunday) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City will be even grander than ever. It will feature all 13 brands under CAMPI and will have the theme “Mobility + Humanity: Innovating for the Common Good.”
Foton will be providing 3 modernized jeepneys to shuttle attendees free of charge between two pickup points, the World Trade Center and SMX Convention Center.
Tickets can be purchased at the venue for PHP 200 each, with the first 1,000 ticket buyers getting a 50% discount every show day. Gates will be open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
