Next-generation GAC GS3 coming to PH this year says insider

We can expect more brand-new vehicles from GAC Motor PH in the not-so-distant future. Apart from the EMPOW and all-new GS8 which are set to debut later today, we got word from a very reliable source that the next-generation GS3 (which debuted last week) will be making its way to the country.

Speaking with an insider from GAC Motor PH, they said that the 2023 GS3 has been confirmed for the Philippine market. While no exact timeline has been revealed, they mentioned that it will be arriving later this year. This means we can expect the new crossover to arrive by Q2, Q3, or maybe even Q4 of 2023.

No specifications of the next-gen GS3 were shared with us. But based on what GAC revealed a few weeks ago, we already have a good idea of what it will have. For starters, it has a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 177 PS with 270 Nm of torque. Power goes to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. From a standstill, GAC claims the 2023 GS3 can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds.

Style-wise, the crossover appears to have taken inspiration from the digital world of Cyberpunk 2077. With an emphasis on sharp lines, muscular curves, and an aggressive stance, the 2023 GS3 is both bold and daring in its design. Opt for the R-Style variant and the crossover comes equipped with a stylish body kit, larger alloy wheels, orange accents, and sporty alloy wheels.

The interior also gets a sporty and high-tech look thanks to a two-tone theme and digital displays. The instrument cluster is now displayed using a digital monitor while the touchscreen infotainment system seems to be a curved display to deliver a more sophisticated look and feel.

With GAC Motor PH pushing ahead under new management as well as under the leadership of industry veteran Jun Cajayon, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any information (or leaks) regarding the all-new GS3 and or other upcoming models from the automaker.
