Dark Horse: Mansory reveals the Ferrari 296 GTB Tempesta

Ferrari 296 GTB gets the Mansory treatment

As it is, the Ferrari 296 GTB is in no way lacking in the looks or performance department. But of course, there will always be those in the aftermarket tuning scene who can turn things up a bit more.

And one of those brands is Mansory. They've worked their magic in many other Prancing Horses before; now they've revealed their latest creation. It's called the Tempesta, and boy did it turn the 296 GTB into a dark horse.

On the outside, the Tempesta treatment can be summed up with three things: matte black paint, red pinstriping, and Mansory's trademark forged carbon fiber.

The 296 GTB's front fascia looks a lot more striking with the addition of a splitter, grille surrounds, and louvers on the front fenders. The wing mirrors have also been changed to forged carbon fiber while the side skirts were aggressively designed for better aerodynamic and cooling efficiencies.

At the back, the Tempesta from Mansory takes design inspiration from the FXX K with winglets on either side instead of a large rear wing. There are also plenty of forged carbon fiber parts on the rear end, as Mansory added a lip spoiler and a new diffuser design.

To complete the Tempesta exterior package, Mansory put in a set of forged wheels that measure 21x9 in front and 22x11.5 at the rear. They are wrapped in 255 series tires in front, and 335mm wide tires at the back.

While Mansory went dark on the outside, well what they did inside was to brighten things up with yellow leather and red accents. Custom Mansory carpets and further carbon fiber accents are also added to spruce up the cabin even more.

The standard 296 GTB's 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 and its electric motor puts out a combined 830 PS, but Mansory developed a new exhaust system and some ECU tweaks to push power output to 870 PS and 750 Nm of torque.

Mansory says the 296 GTB Tempesta can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.

Of course, the next question would be “What's the retail on one of these?”. Well, Mansory has yet to answer that. And in fact, they said there's “much more to come” with the 296 GTB Tempesta.
