First batch of 2024 Foton Tunland V7, V9 have been sold out
Foton's new full-size diesel hybrid pickup trucks are proving to be quite popular

Last week, Foton Motor Philippines Inc (FMPI) unleashed the mighty Tunland V7 & V9 full-size pickup trucks. Not only do they now serve as the biggest workhorse pickups in Foton's lineup, but they are also the first diesel-hybrid models in the automaker's portfolio.

Both trucks are powered by a 2.0-liter, 48V mild-hybrid turbo-diesel that generates 163 PS along with 450 Nm of torque. It's available in either 4x2 or 4x4 variants and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Complementing its size is the number of features available like a full leather upholstery, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth, power-adjustable front seats, and more.
With a price tag that starts at PHP 1.758 million, the two full-size pickups surely attracted plenty of attention. Fast forward a couple of days later after the conclusion of this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), FMPI has sold the first batch of Tunland V7 & pickup trucks.

According to the automaker, interest in the new full-size diesel-hybrid pickup trucks was so great that all 50 units (30 V9 and 20 V7 pickup trucks) have been sold to customers. As we previously reported, all of the customers who reserved a unit will also get a Mutt motorcycle for free.
Given that customers showed great interest in Tunland V7 and V9 pickup trucks, it looks like Foton could have a new popular light-duty vehicle on their hands besides the midsize Thunder pickup. And with the first 50 units already sold out, the automaker will likely get more units for the next batch.
