Escala Tagaytay now has a charging station for EVs and PHEVs
Thinking about bringing an electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) to Tagaytay but are afraid there won't be enough juice in the battery to take you back home or further south? Not to worry as there is now a charging station in the popular tourist destination.
Escala Hotel now has its own EV charging station. Made possible with Evo X Charge, the hotel is now capable of accommodating guests who need to recharge their PHEVs or EVs while at Escala.
The newly-installed chargers are capable of recharging two vehicles at a time and are rated to put out 7kW per hour. That means recharging a battery from 20% to 80% can take around 4 hours, give or take. It may not be a fast DC charger, but the system at Escala can recharge both EVs and PHEVs.
But who can exactly use the charging station at Escala? According to the management, guests of the hotel and restaurant are allowed to use the new charging station. And while Escala only has two charging stations for now, they did say that they plan to install more chargers should customer demand for EVs and PHEVs grow in the future.
If you happen to have an EV or PHEV and have a trip set for Tagaytay in the not-so-distant future, you'll be happy to know you can recharge your electrified vehicle at Escala.
UPDATE: Escala is actually the first hotel in Tagaytay to have an EV charging station. Robinson's Tagaytay is the first location in Tagaytay to have an EV charging station.
