Five stars for the new Trition
In case you missed it, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) is already accepting reservations for the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton ahead of its official launch on January 26. If you're yet to place an order in the books, here's another great reason to choose the Triton as your next pickup truck.
The all-new Triton has been given a five-star rating for safety in the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP). It's the first pickup truck to undergo the more stringent 2021-2025 assessment protocol that covers four assessment domains - the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) which covers 40 points of the overall score, and Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA) and Motorcyclist Safety (MS) that contributes 20 points each.
In these assessments, the all-new Triton's build quality and standard safety tech performed remarkably well, achieving 32.52 points in AOP, 17.54 points in COP, 14.44 points for SA, and 10.22 points for the MS assessment, getting a total score of 74.71 points which is enough to get a 5-star rating.
The Triton's standard safety features for all its variants include three airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a Seat Belt Reminder System (SBR) for both driver and front passengers, and Pedestrian Protection technology.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck has several safety assist technologies that are available either as standard or optional fitment, which include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both driver and passenger sides of the vehicle and Auto High Beam (AHB).
Lastly, the Triton's seven airbags for the top-spec variants and SBR for rear seat occupants are offered standard or optional fitment.
Now that the all-new Mitsubishi Triton is about to go on sale by next month, those who have already pre-booked the pickup truck can have peace of mind knowing their new ride will be one of the safest on the road.
